Sorry if this has been beat to death and I know she’s recovering from surgery from a while ago but it seems like extra radio silence on her end lately.
Thought she might be opening her season this Friday (5/5) along with Courtney Frerichs at the Oregon Twilight meet . . . or Saturday (5/6) along with Christina Aragon at Sound Running's Track Fest . . . but already has the 5k & 10k WC Qs from last summer . . . so, apparently taking the Edwin Moses approach and not racing until she's back in tip-top shape . . . maybe she'll open at the Portland Track Festival the first weekend in June . . . but would have to come down from BTC's Park City training camp for that . . .
Anyway, great to see she's re-emerged and looking fit.
I have this gut feeling that the best days of frerichs are behind her. I hate being so negative, but she’s definitely not the same athlete. Maybe it’s the injury and the long return. Running 4:18 in May and then being competitive on a world level in august seems fairly insurmountable.
We tend to assume people don't improve. Consider typical Centro, or '22 Jager and you'll see dramatic improvement toward old pbs is very possible. Frerichs 1500pb is 4:07 and of course she will try to make steeple team. I believe she still has time.
