I think the real question here is who finishes higher. Now that is such an interesting question.
Leo learned his lesson at NXN about front running sometimes being foolish. He ran much smarter at the USATF u20 race. So I think he'll stay back and finish strong.
Irene on the other hand has gotten away with front running all year. She will go out too fast and die at the end.
That's my whole point. Leo has already proven that he can resist the temptation of running too fast early in the race, as seen in the USATF u20 race.
On the other hand, Irene always is in the lead pack. I think she will get carried away early in the race by the other fast runners and she will pay for it in the last mile.

she always runs in the lead pack because there is no US high schooler faster than her. when she was interviewed about this race she said she had "no expectations". she knows there are REALLY fast internationals she likely cant keep up with. why do we always have to assume the girls have no clue what they are doing but the guys are smarter? they are both going to Stanford last time I checked...

Why are you assuming that I'm assuming? I'm NOT assuming. I'm saying that Leo learned a valuable lesson at NXN.
Going to Stanford has nothing to do with anything. Lots of runners at smart schools have run dumb races.
