I made that NY XC thread that got kinda popular. I think the 4x8 is the crown jewel of distance in NY, and I thought it might be fun to check in. NY is on to a much faster start than last year in the 4x8, as there are already 4 teams within 2 seconds of last years indoor winner, and 8 teams sub 8:10.

Yesterday 3 of the top 4 (chaminade, bay shore, northport) ran at the millrose trials. Here are my takeaways.
Chaminade looked pretty weak after their first leg, but three very strong legs and an awesome last 200 from patrick mulyran got the job done for a win. ran three solid legs, and wasn't to far back of chaminade by the 4th leg, and while dylan beggins ran very well, he couldnt quite catch mulyran. Northport is the interesting team here. They have the state record (outdoors) in the 4x8 and have won 2 national championships in the 4x8 (outsoors)in 2017/2018. They have had great coaching, and came out of nowhere to come third at states in XC. Their weakest leg was timothy sheahan, who has 1:57/4:18 pr's. If he can get back up to speed, he can be an excellent anchor leg, but yesterday he didn't run too well. They had a very competive first leg, a good third leg and a surpisingly good leg out of their 4th guy in XC who appeared to be more of a distance type, and who anchored the relay.
