Say you have two people equal in age/capability/etc.
Person A does hard workouts every day for six months straight, January 1 through July 31, but then stops working out at all the entire month of July. Meanwhile Person B does no workouts January through mid-June. Then after a late-June ramp up period, proceeds to do hard daily workouts (equal to intensity as person A's average Jan-June daily workout) every day in July.
It is now August 1. All other factors being equal except above, who is in better shape?
