Since you seem to have an axe to grind, Tuohy ran faster (converted) at 1500 (4:12) and 3000 (8:54) than Cook did at 1 mile (4:42) and 2 miles (9:44) at age 19. At age 19 Cook ran the 15:25 5000 while Tuohy ran 15:41 winning ACC. Of course 2-3 weeks later (at age 20) she ran 15:30 at NCAA with a pretty fast finish. At age 18 I don't think there was much comparison.
And Tuohy's PR in 5000m is 15:14, which she ran in April 2022, only 1 month after turning 20.
Why is everyone so obsessed with the age that they ran their times? Who cares if she was 18 year and 10.778 months vs 19.xxyears old? Cook as the faster high school 5k time, KT has the faster overall 5k PR. They are both outstanding runners and are quite close in 5k PRs. And now we will finally get to see them race against each other this year and see who is faster
You are one of the few people who try to denigrate the record of a high school girl.
Stating facts isn't criticizing. If saying the fact that Natalie Cook ran her record weeks away of being 19 years old and failing to break 16-year-old Katelyn Tuohy's record while being 19 years old is "denigrating" to you. Not my problem.
Stating facts like you just did is fine. But you have made so many denigrating statements of Cook over the past year. You have made some in this thread.
"bro really desperate hahahah natalie cook is old, accept the fact and move on"

Simply put, the fact that Tuohy got worse after her sophomore year of high school doesn't mean that Cook was not a better high school runner at the 5000m. At the same age, Cook was faster. Tuohy didn't break that time until age 20. Cook was 18, not yet 19, and in high school, not training with a phalanx of the best college runners in the country for years. This doesn't fit your narrative. Cain was also better in high school at 800, 1500, mile, and two mile. Wiley was better as well, but I'm going to drop that example in light of current events.
Actually she was better as a junior. That is when she destroyed all those course records, averaged a 175 SR and set the 3000 record. KT was coming back from surgery at 18-19. Usually takes about a year. Once that happened she really took off again.
NC was a month shy of her 19th birthday at the Stanford Invite. If you cannot admit there is an age component regarding high school records, fine. It still goes in the books.
Tuohy always had more natural speed than Cain at every distance above the 800. She just took a different career path and wasn't running for Nike in high school. But she was breaking Cain's age group records her first few years in the sport. That's why I knew her 1500 time and closing speed were going to surprise people once she was fully back. A lot more natural speed than people think.
At least you were prudent enough to give up the last example.
Im sorry to tell you but Katelyn Tuohy improved and was still breaking records as a Junior, she still broke course records, won everything and won countless national championships and even ran the top 1 and top 3 all-time times in 3000m
in her Senior year she broke the great american course record by 40 or more seconds but then covid hit and it afftected her last indoor and outdoor season, she was not able to run much indoors and the nationals was cancelled, the outdoor season was entirely cancelled and she moved college
You're so insecure of Katelyn Tuohy, but your idol or should I say daughter Natalie Cook out there liking Katelyn Tuohy's posts and following her.
Anyways its so silly arguing with you over just 5000m, funny because Katelyn isn't just a 5000m runner.
I bet when Katelyn Tuohy breaks the NCAA Mile collegiate record next year you'll bring up Cain who's irrelevant in this day and age and Wiley who's in a program sued for doping their athletes. Because you're that insecure of her. Anyways I'll be here to defend Queen Elizabeth.
The Tuohy fans on here are insane. Imagine wasting 17 pages of server space on this pointless conversation.
Imagine someone that lets it bother them when there are over 400 pages of other collegiate-related topics to discuss that they could be participating in.
I know this has probably been mentioned here before and I think I may have read it in passing a few months ago....but I was just reminded of this yesterday after watching a FloTrack interview with Katelyn right after the 2022 indoor NCAA 5k championships: Katelyn said that she actually had a little injury that she was dealing with during the 2021 cross country season, and she didn't tell the coaches until after the NCAA XC championships in November. That's part of the reason why she took off most of the indoor season, and did not race during the 2022 indoor season until the ACC indoor championships. This may explain, in part, why Katelyn appears to be on another level in this 2022 XC season as compared to the 2021 XC season (eg, lowering her time at the Notre Dame course by about 35 seconds from last year). She wasn't even at 100% in the XC season last fall. Now that she is apparently 100% health, look out.

Absolutely…. (Check out the thread about Nuttycombe)
