He has one global gold medal in the 1500 and lost the two most competitive 1500 races since then — the Diamond League final and the WC. There is no case to be made at the current time that he is the 1500 strength-based GOAT.
1500 will be tough because I don’t think he’s the best in the world. He’s lost the last 2 global finals. Both of which were perfect situations for him.
An impressive run given that he took the 5k title only 2 days before, and was running against fresh competitors. Yeah I know one of them pipped him at Worlds in the 1500, but basically he is too good to be running against Europeans.

Well, how did the Europeans do in the Worlds 1500m final in Eugene?
Who should be able to beat him if the Europeans can´t?
Dominant by Ingebrigtsen. Felt second hand embarrassment for Hayward in second who seemed devastated that he hadn’t won the gold… in what world could he beat Jakob?!

Any international medal is though to attain for everyone. Tine will show if he will follow up on his olympic gold and world silver.
That looked so easy, at no point did he look strained at all. 56.3, 1:54.1, 2:51.7, and 41.0. Never even really changed gears, just glided away from the field. Looked pretty wet out there as well.

56.3, 1:54.1, 2:51.7, and 41.1 = 3:32.8 Jakob 54.9, 1:52.2, 2:50.8, and 41.4 = 3:32.2 Bayi (is it the shoes?)
Setting records is partly outside his control (if we imagine/pretend like he would get fast enough) as he need the right meet and a healthy McSweyn and maybe Timothy to help him. So who knows.
What we know is that he will regard it as a failure to not win gold in both the 1500 and the 5000 in the next three big internationals meets. And that is simply incredible. What a weight he has on his shoulders for the rest of his career.

Am I missing something here!? Didn't he win the Olympic 1500m last year? Then he got the silver this year at the Worlds over 1500m. So he has won 1 out of the last 2 global titles over 1500m. The Olympics is global and more important than Worlds.
