Jakob outkicked Katir in the 1500m at World's, so I doubt he was too worried. He doesn't have the kind of gear shift that Coe had, the sudden dramatic jolt to the pace, but he ran about 53.7 for the last lap and about 25.7-25.8 for the last 200m, which is excellent. What separates him is really how easy he runs 58-60 for the preceding two to three laps in these. He gradually cuts the pace down, much like El Guerrouj in 2004 where every 100m was slightly faster than the previous one.
