They have been mum about him for several months. I last remember seeing him in results on April 14 in a dual meet vs. Thousand Oaks where he finished 3rd behind Doshi and Appleford in the 3200. Hard to say what's happened since. Injury? Transfer? Academic problems?
Is this a fact or a complaint? I've been through a situation where I could not have an attendance policy so I happily quit as I have so many other hobbies I could fall back on. A fact was it was not equitable against other schools who did have one and there's nothing I could do about it. My point is if a coach cannot demand within reason (such as attendance) that a kid is all in on a high school sports team, save the tax payers money and cut the program from the budget. Perhaps someone can start a jogging club on campus, because that's all these other kids/parents want. Anyone on here who bags on Brosnan is just jealous they never got to run for a coach like him or has to coach against him and will not go all in like he does.
I have no problem with the open recruiting … but to claim greatest hs team even and then have kids from all over isn’t really a fair accomplishment. saratoga or fm basically won with kids who came from their one middle school - it’s fine what they are doing but don’t continue with the “greatest” ever conversation as your really just building a club team at a hs
Of course FM and Saratoga teams came from the same middle school -- an important part of their winning success is working 11 and 12 year-old girls really hard so that they are superstars in 9th and 10th grade.

Or even in 7th or 8th grade.
Next Year Saratoga returns superstars Bush, Belisle and Hart so they will need 2 more superstars up there if they want to be the best in the nation again.
Maybe they will hire someone that will keep the program rolling.
Draughon never coached CC before but she seems to be doing a good job filling in for Doug. Great Oak boys should be top 3 or 4 in the nation this year based on the time trial they had this summer.
NP’s girls team is losing 3 scorers but they have an 18:52 5K incoming freshman, and her sister who is transferring from Oaks Christian and ran a 19:44 5K. They are looking to have just one senior on varsity so hopefully they will be really good again in 2023. Their junior class is strong this year though so there needs to be some more young girls pushing for those varsity spots.
On the boys side they have 3 really good freshmen coming in, and 2 more sub-5 ones.
West Ranch has 3 solid freshmen coming in.
So which team wins NXN in 2025 will depend on which school Adrian Cantu goes to.
Interesting that Doshi is the only person on this years varsity team who lives close to NP and never transferred from anywhere.
They will win NXN this year but if the varsity consisted of only guys who live close to np and never transferred from anywhere, they would not even qualify for NXN
Dunno what all the fuss is about the Youngs and Sahlmans, they both live in Camarillo which is 10 minutes away from NPHS and that's already almost half of their varsity team. Martinez and Cantu are the only ones who truly live "far" away from NP.
Milesplit is saying Brayden Seymour with PBs of 4:11 and 8:59 from Florida is transferring to NP? That is an insane transfer. Will they score 15 next this year at states?

Looks like Martinez will move down from #6 to #7 if he does end up returning.
Since NP moved from D1 to D2 I honestly think they can perfect score there. Maybe even go 1-7 if Hector is healthy and their 4-7 all stick together. But they won’t perfect score in the merge though since Caudillo is clearly better than NP’s 4th.
Keep in mind though Granada has a 9:11 guy returning. And they are a really good team too and will finish very high at nationals.
I can also see NP’s top 7 all going under 15 minutes at the California state meet. A lot of people think RunningLane times do not count. Hector was only 16 seconds away from doing breaking it at CIF. Doshi is clearly much better now than what he ran at state.

There were 4 juniors in D2 that ran faster than Doshi at last year’s state meet.

Yeah, but Doshi has improved A LOT since the state XC meet. At that meet, he wasn’t close to Martinez. At running lane, he was only 7 seconds behind him.
Doshi also ran a 9:02 in the 3200, but none of those 4 D2 juniors ran faster than that.
