In the Laundrie case, the whole country was talking about it, so just about everything was being speculated aloud everywhere. Am guessing the mods in this case are are more concerned with aiding defamation as the community is a niche one and this is a related forum even if not a cycling one, so it’s one of a handful of places discussing the case with interest.
The U.S. Marshals, along with other law enforcement agencies, are looking for Kaitlin Marie Armstrong in connection with Wilson’s death. The Austin Police Department issued an arrest warrant …
And the cops, a bunch of idiots. They had her in their clutches and let her go.
When the yoga teacher was questioned about her boyfriend's affair, she reportedly 'rolled her eyes in an angry manner.' When authorities asked if she was 'upset' and 'just in the area,' Armstrong reportedly nodded her head and admitted it 'didn't look good,' the affidavit read. Recently released video footage shows a fugitive yoga teacher's car drive past the love rival's house around the same time the woman was shot dead inside. Armstrong's black Jeep Grand Cherokee was pictured driving past the house in Austin on May 11, where Wilson was staying with a friend. Wilson was shot dead inside the property around the same time, while visiting from San Francisco for an upcoming race, Fox7 reported. Shortly after being questioned about the whereabouts of her car, she requested to leave the interview and police said she was 'very still' throughout the whole thing. She has since disappeared. On May 17, the firearm located at Strickland's residence was 'test fired' and police have determined it had significant potential' that that gun could have been used in the crime. Police now think the discovery of that relationship had caused Armstrong to snap and learning they went swimming may have driven Armstrong to kill. Investigators are also probing whether exercise app Strava led Armstrong to Wilson's location. It is used by runners and cyclists to share exercise routes, and Wilson's profile - which has now been deleted - was publicly visible.

How did the cops botch that so easily?
TV cops always say to the person of interest not to leave town.
Anyone think she cut her hair short and dyed it black?
Thousands of pages of sociological studies have shown that women do not commit horrific murders unless under the influence of men. In fact, by nature, it is a masculine act when a woman commits a murder.
My view is that a lot of humanities and social sciences studies are not scientific based on quantitative and independently verifiable experiments but rather in good part opinion pieces open to interpretation. Not all of it of course, but enough of it to make me skeptical. Chomsky himself has said that the reason he is one of the world’s foremost intellectuals in political science (being a linguist by training) is because it doesn’t take any special skills and any smart person can do it.
Women leaders in the real world are observed to be just as ruthless and hawkish as men. Calling that behavior masculine is playing word games.
Exactly. Especially in the corporate world.
I think the cops let her go because of her gender and status and trusted her, even if logically they should have held her. How can you botch something like this so easily? She's probably made it to Mexico and will never be found.

she could, although she'd still have to get by border patrol and still find a fake ID. If she ditched the Cherokee she'd need another vehicle or walk on foot. Plus, we don't know if she has connections in MEX either to start another life. Austin is a long way from Brownsville or Corpus Christi.
Dude, Occam is turning in his grave. The simplest explanation based on their texts reported in the affidavit is that Wilson had unfinished business with him (and maybe he with her as well), a fairly common love triangle jealousy scenario. You are imagining far too elaborate a plot here that strains credulity.
I can almost guarantee that its a one possible theory that homicide detectives will be considering. Thats the way they work - they think of possible motives and theories and then gather evidence that supports the most likely theory. They would not exclude theories such as this in the way you maintain at this stage.
Here we are folks. There is no doubt much precedent for this type of situation. She might serve some time but no death penalty or long term if she gets herself a good lawyer.. Even the police report states that she remains silent over and over as if this is against the law or makes her somehow guilty. It's not. She did the right thing and said nothing. Crime of passion laws in Texas The law also holds that such passion must be due to adequate cause. This means a cause that would commonly produce a degree of anger, rage, resentment, or terror in a person of ordinary temper, sufficient to render the mind incapable of cool reflection.
Several posters in this thread have made the mistaken assumption that Kaitlin Armstrong has been arrested. She is still on the lam as of now (Saturday afternoon, 5/21) and is being hunted by The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
She's going to the border.
Maybe our Marshals are overrated and not good enough.
Good twitter thread analyzing Strickland's affidavit and comparing it to his social media statement on the murder. Some think there is enough to charge him as an accessory in the comments
Not very far fetched to think that Colin Strickland could have done something to Kaitlin Armstrong with her missing for so long given that we know Strickland has a history of lieing and his public statement has contradicted the police affadavit. And we know that Strickland has another gun as well as the means and connections to get more.
I hope they nail Strickland as well but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Last week, police issued an arrest warrant for the 34-year-old. Kaitlin Armstrong allegedly killed Moriah Wilson at an East Austin apartment on May 11.

The tipster will have to live with her agony too--she is guilty of nonfeasance--of not doing something or acting when she should have by law.
Nope, there is no such law requiring a bystander to do anything to prevent a crime or even help an obviously dying person, not even if they are your spouse. You are obligated to act to protect only if you are their guardian or otherwise have a statutory duty to do so.
Anyone think she cut her hair short and dyed it black?
My theory is that, given her somewhat equine looks, she changed form into a horse and galloped away and is lying low in a stable in a farmland somewhere in the suburbs.
