It is not safe to be a female runner in Kenya.
It is not safe to be a female runner in Kenya.
Your obsession with Kenya is pathological, Coevett. Your stupidity too.
Those are cases of violence against women by their partners.
There are thousands of female runners in Kenya and they are not being assaulted all the time like you want to make people believe. Western women train in places like Iten too, sometimes on their own, with no problems whatsoever.
But of course you had to try and make Kenya look bad. Under a different handle, of course, so that people don't point their finger at you once again.
Stephanie, I don't think this one has been mentioned yet
I'm surprised it took 5 pages for someone to mention Kweder - he and Eisenhauer were the first two that came to mind.
I have no idea how I never heard of the Eric Kweder story until now. I remember seeing his name all over the top of race results in the area in the early 2000's. There's a pretty good chance he's posted on this site too.
He definitely posted on this site before

True.
In the Buffalo area, there was Altemio Sanchez, the "Bike Path Killer," who killed at least one runner (Linda Yalem).
A book about him was co-authored by a runner (Mike Beebe) who was also the running columnist for the Buffalo News.
And finally, Sanchez in fact entered and ran the 5k race in memory of Linda Yalem (it continued for several years). I know this because I was the timer and eventually the cops came looking to see what races he'd entered.
The "project" is a podcast I'm doing with Cait Chock. The first episode airs June 9. We are already on podcast platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc) as well as YouTube if you'd like to subscribe and be notified of new episodes.
We recorded a teaser, which is already available to listen to/view. I promise the actual episodes are better than the teaser because they aren't scripted.
If anyone has any more story ideas, please post here or you can email us at runningthroughhellpodcast (at) gmail.com
