Is Nico Young really racing? Per his instagram, he's in Seattle right now.
Update: looks like Young is racing the mile at the UW Invitational with his teammates instead of going to Millrose. We'll see how that altitude mile converts down to a sea level one, I guess.

Yes NAU site indicates Nico, Nur and Bosley running the mile at UW.
https://nauathletics.com/news/2022/1/26/track-field-to-travel-to-millrose-nebraska-and-washington.aspxI'm jealous I didn't get to watch it live. Well, the race video is up on FloTrack so that's pretty nice.

All you need is a free vpn to watch live.

That was awesome to watch, looked like a sprint the whole way, every lap sub 30.

I don't understand. Why are Young, Nur, and Bosley racing the mile at UW while Kusche and Quax are racing the mile at Millrose? Why didn't they just choose one race?
? This dude got 4th at the Olympics, Hocker got 6th after a college season. Aregwai is better, but how can you say a dude that only 5 1500 runners in the world could beat is not near the best?
I stand corrected. Beamish out kicks Teare and Hocker. Was so sure Hocker would take it. Nice bounce back for Teare!

Beamish closed an indoor 5K (4th December 2021) in 26.25 seconds. Do not underestimate Beamish's kick.
If Beamish out kicks Hocker, I’ll be back on this thread admitting my hubris and ignorance. Not going to happen. Hocker is A team and the rest of this crowd is B team or worse. These early races are so much about who prepared and who cares, but if this was a championship final where everybody was as ready as possible, Hocker would dominate this bunch. They are all going to sit around one day and trade stories about how they got to race Hocker way back when…..
You back? What a fool. Not so wise after all.
Cooper Teare is a better talent than Hocker IMO.
A lot of people in the know here
I just don’t see how people knew that Beamish would win this thing.
Also predicting Teare over Hocker???
Teare’s XC season did not really end on a high note
Hats off to the knowledgeable people

Well, a XC race ending like that has no bearing on your indoor season. 10k cross vs. 3k track is a big difference.

13. Charles Hicks 7:50.0
You can't be serious putting Parsons over Hicks. I'd put Hicks closer to Kiptoo and Mantz honestly.
No I was serious. Hicks strikes me as much more of a 10k guy than a 3k guy. Also it just seemed like after great NCAA track & XC seasons and then winning the U23 race at Euro XC, he was likely to come down a bit at some point. I fully expect him to be competing for NCAA titles and spots on the World Championship squads in the next couple years.
Sam Parsons had a great race today. His 7:44.99 today almost equals his best outdoor PB of 7:44.43.

Of course, of course.
But Teare himself said that Hocker was better prepared than him
He did nothing in the past 10 months that would indicate that he would out kick Hocker.
Obviously there was other indications.

Are you the same poster as “the whole thing.”? Because if so, you predicted Wesley Kiptoo would win (he was 11th) and that James West would run the last 400 in 52.7 (his last 400 was 69.87, the slowest in the field).
Dayumm Beamish looking very John Walker!
Wore new spikes not available to public. Does record count?

Yeah, I came back as promised, but you don’t have to be such a jerk about it. Do I think Hocker is more talented than Beamish….yes. Did Beamish run a nice race and snag the win….yes. Do I hate Beamish….no. Wish him well too.
Should of had Dillon Maggard in this race. He just ran a 7:47:20 with a win at UW. Probably could have gone faster if running with this group.
