I want bring some attention to what kind of a weekend Coach Matt Centrowitz of American University had this weekend. The AU guys qualified automatically for NCAA's. His lone AU girl represenative Keira Carlestrom qualified individually for NCAA's. His daughter Lauren was Stanfords 6th runner at the west regional and is going to nationals. And finally his son Matt won the Maryland state high school cross country championships for the second year in a row. Pretty Amazing
that man is awesome. what a cool guy. and that's all i have to say about that.
Congrats...few people are as passionate about the sport..hope he gets a big job somewhere....
Why can't American U be the "big job" for him?
Arkansas wasn't a powerhouse before McDonnell got there.
Stanford wasn't dominant before Lannana took over.
If he's a great coach (and I have no reason to doubt that he is) there's no reason why Centrowitz can't build American U up to be whatever he wants it to be.
yeah, he seems to be doing pretty well there
there's probly no better place for him right now
also, i've never heard a bad thing about this guy, and pretty much every comment has been about how great of a person/coach he is

Well, building a program with one total track/XC scholarship, or whatever it is, is eventually going to start running into limits, given the high tuition at AU.
That being said, Centro has done an amazing job with the progam, and taking a second consecutive auto bid to NCs should help some more recruits take a look at how far guys like O'Brien and Duffy developed under him.
it's 2 scholarships actually. but yeah, thats not a lot.
