Came out of retirement twice. Originally accepted the GCU job, then backed out once ASU was interested. Now GCU having to go through the hiring process again..
For any head coaching job worth getting the administration is going to give the new Head Coach autonomy over their program. Of course Cal Poly was going to let the new head coach pick his assistants.
I don't think any Head Coach in their right mind would retain a previous administration's assistant, especially in their own event group, no matter what the track record. Getting a staff you trust and can work with is paramount to being a head coach.
Priscilla is a professional coach (and a competent one, at that) and I am sure she saw the writing on the wall when the AD went with Van Hoy. If willing, she could have a new job by summer's end.
Yes. The coaches were good people that wouldn’t have been fired if Mark hadn’t died. Van Hoy is a good coach, but the AD did not do the right thing, in my opinion. As for hiring your own wife, I think that is extremely inappropriate. And, in this case, Priscilla is actually a better coach.
There are several good jobs open. Perhaps Priscilla ends up at GCU, ASU, UCLA??? the later would be a big time opportunity.
Avery tried to hire Priscilla years ago. She saw what a sh&t show it was and said 'no thanks.' Not sure things have gotten better....
Priscilla is awesome and will land on her feet somewhere. Good people always do :)
So, the girl killed herself during the investigation? Grigg has been the HC for many years. I've known him for 22 years and have always had respect for him and his teams, and have never heard anything negative until now. I want to hear the testimony of the literal hundreds of women he has coached in that time.

Except that it doesn't matter if there were hundreds or thousands of athletes that were not abused. It's not a greater good scenario. A few (at least) athletes suffered abusive behavior from him, and that's too many...
I understand this may not elegantly dovetail with the person you thought you knew, but it sure looks like there's a lot of evidence to suggest he was abusive, and that's all it takes.

If tons of people don’t have a problem with someone and you have a problem with them it’s probably your fault… it’s like a kid with all A’s and one F, maybe that teacher is bad or doesn’t like them… if the kid has all F’s and the other kids have A’s it’s prob the kid’s fault not the teacher.
