Deena Kastor, Sara Hall, and Emma Bates seem to be doing okay

This is True!
Come on man, Deena Kastor!? She hasn't been truly relevant or competitive in quite some time
Okay is an accurate word for hall and bates. not in the sarcastic way i believe you said it though. they really are JUST OK

I don't know man, Katir has had a pretty good season if you ask me.

100 miles? That sounds like alot..
Hall and Bates? Didn’t they have some pop hits back in the 80’s?

Yes. Check out Live from Daryls House.

Sara Hall and Emma Bates would disagree.
As of 2021 season, new British 5000m, European 10k, and European 10-mile record holder, 3rd UK all-time female half-marathoner, British 10,000m champion and now 3x Olympian Eilish McColgan would disagree too

Second fastest female American marathoner ever?
By how many minutes would she beat you? If she’s just “ok”, then what does that make you?
I’m saying she has been retired for a relatively long time and she’s not relevant on the elite scene. It doesn’t matter how much faster than me she is/was; we are allowed to be fans of the sport and discuss running like any other sport.
True signs with ASICS, Droddy signs Salomon, others are unsigned. We all know there is not a lot of money in this sport relative to the athletes who would like to do it for a living. Not everyone can or wants to run for Adidas or Nike so if the brands without leading edge technology offer you a deal and no one else does, you take it. In some cases, the disadvantage is short lived as these brands are following as fast as they can

First I've ever heard of this.
100+ miles? haha....well we wouldn't always take them out of the box and put them on for the first time on the starting line.
When I got new flats, I'd typically take them out for a 3-5 mile run a week or so before the race to make sure they were fine. To each their own, but I never knew any runners who would wear racing shoes for 100 miles before you know, actually racing in them.
For True I think 2:12 - 2:14 range will be accurate. He's not really built for the marathon, a little too much bone structure kinda like Solinski. Hope he does better though.
I hope he wins!
So does this mean he's 100% a roadrunner now? No more track?
Is Treacy coaching him still?
Now you're just embarrassing yourself (even more than before, that is). He is talking about Hall, not Kastor. You know, the second fastest female American marathon ever. Since you don't know, Kastor is the fastest female American runner ever.

A bit harsh no? One of the most consistent 5k guys the US has ever seen. Been hitting 100 mile weeks under Ray Treacy. Feel like he can go sub-2:10 & be the top American. 2:10-2:13 still usually does pretty well at NYC.
