Interesting. I know several people that make seven figures a year because they are very very smart, and they like listening to Rogan. They also engage in some of your listed activities, and I know that one was an Obama voter... but coincidentally, sees right through Biden. Not surprising is your delusional self righteousness and your judgmental and defamatory shtbagness. But, what is tolerance, acceptance, and openmindedness to a 'liberal'? Your subservience to authority and control freak nature is completely disgusting.
^ Joe Rogan alt-right douche-bro predictably offended. Face it. Banana Nut Crunch Fan nailed it. No one with any semblance of intelligence would listen to that podcast. And let me guess, you're a fan of Russell Brand's disingenuous pandering podcast as well?

Rogan is far left, too. But he's honest enough to call out crap from Democrats in addition to republicans.
Far left? He supported and voted for Trump twice.
Rogan is a huge step up from the Crowder, Tim Pool, Russel Brand, Dave Rubin garbage. They aren't even comparable.
Well the UFC went from being a circus freak show that would get a million PPVs, then an underground curiosity that survived on VHS sales after being banned from TV, then into the fastest growing legitimate sport of the 21st century surpassing boxing, with the UFC eventually sold for over a billion dollars.
And he was there almost from the start and stuck with them when they came close to bankruptcy. I believe he was commentating for free at one point.
The UFC reached one of its mainstream peaks around 2006 when Ultimate Fighter reality show took off and Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz were making it popular. Podcasts took off at the same time so Rogan got in first for his niche.

You’re overthinking this.
The great interviewers are niche people with niche audiences. Rogan’s simply a lowest common denominator guy and as such he covers an extraordinarily wide swathe of demographics, left and right. Meathead, hunter, comic, pothead, the guy your mom used to watch make girls eat centipedes on TV, car guy, supplement lover, the man show, conspiracy theorist, face of MMA…. It goes on and on.
Im not a fan. But I’ve noticed he’s a gateway into podcasts for many, and that’s a good thing.
Jian Ghomeshi of the Canadian CBC could have a conversation with anyone and was great at his job.
Then, I don't remember the details, but I think he had violent relationships with women and all came crashing down for him.
He's a naturally curious guy so asks a lot of interesting questions effortlessly and not in a forced, contrived way. This results in interesting conversations.
Although he has his views, he doesn't try and force those on his guests or shut them down from expressing alternative views which, again, results in interesting conversations.
I recently started listening to Rogan. I was never really a fan of his comedy, and also thought he was just a dumb meathead based on his Instagram kettlebell and hunting pics.
He’s actually a very good interviewer and asks questions the mainstream media on both sides is afraid to ask. He admits that he doesn’t know as much as the experts he interviews, but he will still push them. I have cherry picked most of the podcasts where he interviews the left.
Sanjay Gupta, Neil Degrasse, and Tarantino were all great interviews. He has enough money that he doesn’t have to be PC, and he will accept views from the other side when he realizes the guest knows more than he does. Even though I would guess his IQ is not extremely high, he reads a lot and knows a little bit about a lot of things. Kind of a modern day Stern without all the cooky bits.
It's pretty simple. Joe Rogan has a natural curiosity and genuine desire to listen to and learn from people. Plus, he asks the questions the audience want answered. It's pretty basic stuff, but he does it well.

He's the opposite of people like Banana here which appeals to the VAST majority of the country.

You're obviously just listing names of people without having ever even seen or heard their content.... lol.
Joe is popular for the same reason Oprah was a huge hit. Long form conversations with a variety of people and subject matter that is palatable without much need for deep thought.

Jordan Peterson has been on the podcast 4 times and they are some of Rogan's most viewed/listened podcasts ever. All the comments and the like/dislike ratio are EXTREMELY positive. Peterson obviously thought Rogan gave him a fair interview seeing as he came back 3 times after the initial one.
No kidding. Rogan is a liberal. He states this clearly. He’s not as stupid as the the average liberal, so even he can bring himself to state the obvious about Biden and some of the woke bulls#it, but make no mistake, he’s a lib.
The best thing about Rogan is his example of hard work and perseverance. He built this little empire up from absolutely nothing, almost by himself. He’s some fatherless dude from a low class area in Boston. Zero resources or connections. Moves to LA, scraps his way into comedy and acting, even tough he sucks at both. Keeps plodding - fear factor, more comedy, UFC, then podcasting, which he’s good at. The American Dream.

Quite impressive if you ask me.
Joe Rogan is for meat heads who want to appear intellectual without having to the actual mental groundwork. Rogan just tells them what and how to think and they gobble it up.

Yeah, that is a fair assessment. His standup is horrible...I mean just one rung above Dane Cook horrible. I agree that he's not good at acting too. He got that News Radio acting gig primarily on the strength of his (then) good looks. Seemed like every episode they had him take his shirt off.
He was pretty solid as the host of Fear Factor. He does a good job as a UFC announcer (though the novelty of MMA has worn off for me and I mostly don't watch it anymore). Plodding is a good word to describe what he has done. It IS commendable. He's clearly a hard worker, and that has paid off for him.
