Yes, he was absolutley correct about everything regarding the Lakers. I thought that Lebron could make it work, I thought Westbrook would adapt and I was wrong. Very disappointing to watch such a dysfunctional team.
By the way, Westbook's stats are well down across the board, most notably PPG from career avg. of 22.8 to 18.5 this year. His assists are down from 8.4 to 7.1 while rebounds are identical. Throw out the 1st 2 years of his career when he only average 15 and 16 PPG, and the drop in his stats is more pronounced.
Yeah, look at Westbrook’s advanced stats. From 2014-15 through 2016-17 his Player Efficiency Rating was 29.1, and for this season it’s down at 15.0, lower than his rookie year, and right at what’s considered a completely average (non-starter) player’s figure.
2016-17:
PER - 30.6
True Shooting % - 55%
Assist % - 57%
Win Shares/48 - .224
Box Plus/Minus - 11.1
Value Over Replacement Player - 9.3
2021-22:
PER - 15.0
True Shooting % - 51%
Assist % - 32%
Win Shares/48 - .031
Box Plus/Minus - (-1.7)
Value Over Replacement Player - 0.2
Massive decline
All that proves is this past year is far worse than his best year in a long career.
Does not necessarily indicate a massive decline Could be just his current team/situation
