Only Men's Field could be called Elite, but usually there are good debutants in this race, maybe they are just not listed. https://www.watchathletics.com/article/11573/elite-field-for-the-nn-marathon-rotterdam-2021

Thank You
as for the Dutch runners mentioned: Hoornweg (most known as pacemaker for Cheptegei as they share their coach) DNF at the Twenthe Airport marathon this spring and Willeboordse already ran in Amsterdam last Sunday.
Callan Moody from New Zealand is entered with a 2:11:38 PB from this year so I don't know why he wasn't listed as the 12th runner...as he has a faster PB than the person listed...
That's an impressive men's field. It rivals a world marathon major with several 2:04-2:06 guys. The top 2 women could run several minutes off their PR and still be on the podium. That's some easy money for them.
Anyone know the prize money for Rotterdam? I imagine it's probably competitive with what Chicago could put up this year, they had $55k for the winner and only paid 5 deep internationally.
Abdi will win it in 2:04:47, a marginal improvement on his personal best.
"...good debutants.."?
Read what you wrote, clicked on the article, saw the 1st woman listed at 2:21 & thought well that seems ok, & then saw that there is zero competition. I don't get these big marathons not going for at least a 50/50 split.
I only know Bashir Abdi so he's my pick FTW wrote:

For me, a battle between two Kenyans.

Rotterdam is quite unusual in that they never invest in the women's elite field. It's always much weaker than the men's.
