"The left" has always been more of a coalition. There were significant parts of the African American community that were anti-LGBTQi and anti-abortion. My is the anti-vax crowd is even less than that.
The thing is, when you have a right-wing of the country simply refusing to govern in any meaningful way. The choice is easy. Yes we can have discussions on the margins but they aren't voting GOP
The vaccine passport issue will effect African-Americans in a much more direct way than gay marriage or abortion.
What do I mean by that? An individual never is forced to get an abortion or have a gay marriage. However, in some parts of the country if the DNC gets its way, individuals will be unable to get jobs, go to restaurants or participate in large aspects of society if they do not get vaccinated. This is why you will see more pushback among African Americans.
Will this necessarily make African-Americans vote Republican? No. But if also may cause much of the community to stay home on Election Day.

BLM are just highlighting they don't want vaccination status used as an excuse to turn away black people if the restaurant is more lenient when asking white customers about theirs.
Oh man, you're good at divining what BLM was truly saying in between the lines. This makes MUCH more sense now, because we know of the dozens, if not hundreds, of instances where restaurants (for examples, Carmine's) were waiving vaccine card requirements for whites but enforcing it for blacks. It was Jim Crow lunch counters all over again!
I'm glad you got to the bottom of this, because I thought it was just a bunch of hysterical jackasses threatening more violence over exaggerated claims of racism.
They won't let it become another racist practice. If we're having passports we're enforcing them equally.
“We’re putting this city on notice that your mandate will not be another racist social practice. Black people are not going to stand by, or you will see another uprising. And that is not a threat. That is a promise,” she continued. “The vaccination passport is not a free passport to racism.”
Black Women’s March co-founder Kimberly Bernard added, “We are serving notice on the mayor, on the governor, on the restaurant industry that we will not allow for you to use this pandemic, vaccination cards, and masks as another reason to be racist, to put us in prison — because there’s enough of us in there.”
What's really nuts about this is that the restaurant hostess is the victim and these protesters are supporting the assailant.
The hostess was simply doing her job. She had already seated some of the party that had proof of vax, so clearly the others were not denied entry due to race, it was that they did not have proof of vax. Then the ones already seated got mad that their friends couldn't get in so they went and beat up the hostess.

I think people who are very passionate about those two issue feel that it affects them in a personal way. (not that I agree).
I see many laws and requirements used for racial profiling

Looting the answer every time you don’t agree with something or someone. A primitive reaction that solves nothing but destroys innocent peoples livelihood and property.
The problem is, this was allowed and even encouraged by the left during the end of the past administration. It’s quite a conundrum.
Can't get an abortion without proof of vaccine? lol
Uh no, I"m not encouraging that "looting the answer every time you don’t agree with something or someone", not anymore than I'm encouraging that the OP dishonestly insert the word looting when it didn't exist.
Major media will not cover this story because it puts the BLM movement and its black supporters in a bad light.
They just refuse to cover stories like this.

It's why the media always looked surprised when they are accused of having a leftward bias. It's not just how they cover something, it's what they chose to cover at all.
Anyone opposing this vax mandate horror is okay be me
Absolutely what? Is this something you allege happens daily all over the city? Weekly all over the city? At Carmine's? Where and how often does this occur? How do you know? If you can use ANY more specificity other than "Absolutely," your post would make more sense.
Thanks for nailing it down like that. We were worried you might not have a take on what happened at Carmine's after watching the video. Good grief.
You must have been disconnected from mainstream news sources for the entire summer of 2020.
Why? You threw out enough idiotic qualifications above ("Maybe, maybe not.") for the Carmine's incident to have no meaning whatsoever in BLM's absolutely frivolous claim that restaurants are using "vaccine requirements [] as a pretext for discrimination." They KNOW people like you will twist in the wind on this stuff. They can pick any incident they want knowing the spin they will get from liberals.
No, they are not. At least not any more than all the other vaccine hesitant people who get (correctly) bashed on these boards every day.
But kudos to you. You have articulated the obvious path to daylight here that I didn't foresee. White vaccine hesitancy = stupid. Black vaccine hesitancy = "Of course they are." Reason for racial distinction between the two? Systemic racism, of course! Voila! Win.

In context (last summer's riots/looting and the Carmine's incident itself), I can quite easily link "you will see another uprising" with looting and violence. At lot easier than you can claim "you will see another uprising" means whatever you wish BLM meant by that.

The cognitive dissonance in liberal minds spikes here. Is there a multi-nuanced way to reconcile all this? I don't see even a winding path to daylight.
Looks like we have a classic SJW virtue signaling stand-off
The “everything is racist crowd” vs The “you will kill grandma crowd”

If this story got out, it would severely damage the BLM movement. Calling racism when racism obviously isn't there will kill their credibility.
Actually if they don't encourage blacks to getvaccinated, then they should lose any right to wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt, because they obviously don't care about black lives.

Yes, nothing biased about swapping out the words instead of using what was actually said and written. You certainly wouldn't be biased - only those darned mainstream media boogemen!

Again, in context, I do see "uprising" as synonymous with "looting" and I'm betting BLM does too. Nonetheless, knowing your argument, if I could, I'd change the topic to "BLM promises more uprisings if racist vaccine requirements continue."
With that rather semantic modification made clear, you can now begin to add some actual substantive comments, if you wanted to.

This will be a bit of a balancing act for the left. The left needs the African American community to win elections. The left is also pretty much the only side pushing hard fit vaccine mandates. The problem is the African American community is notoriously very vaccine hesitant.
The below post is an example of what I believe we will be seeing more of. The group is now claiming the hostess used a racial slur but this confrontation initially stemmed from the lack of vaccination.
I hope you realize that "the left" isn't a homogeneous group (just as "the right" isn't either. It is possible for someone who has left leaning/far left ideologies to not agree with others who generally fall on the same area of the political spectrum.
