Looked it up, he is 20 DOB June 2001, Side Note, NO ONE in the World who is Younger than Him Currently has a Faster Time.
So, wave goodbye to Oregon's NCAA XC chances now?
How long until this is super hot on Letsrun
Hunter is over 25. He has no business running against a bunch of 18 go’s in the ncaa.
I was really looking forward to seeing him race a year in XC. Oh well.

The NCAA is not U19 age group running.

You are correct in that nobody that is currently younger than him has a faster time but he is not the fastest of all time at his age or younger.
He's definitely ready to be a professional. I hope that he does well.
Jacob Kiplimo was way more impressive at that age

Didn't he just this past winter say "why go pro? I'm young. I've got plenty of time"
I can't verify the quote, but a lot has changed for him since this winter in terms of times and achievements.
This is an NIL endorsement.

Things change when you start seeing big $$$.

Are you sure? His post and Oregon's post sure make it sound like he is no longer on the team.
Yes. Every professional athlete has a contract for name, image, likeness. The point is that the rules now allow for professionals to continue to compete in the NCAA. Whether he chooses to continue to compete in college does not impact his contract.
Good move, considering he's probably in his third week back running and wouldn't be able to do to much at 10k. The only thing that would have made his contract higher is top 5 NCAA XC but that wasn't going to happen with such a long track season.
I honestly think he had a good shot at winning. Still 2+ months of training and he ran a 13:18 an hour after running 3:35 with a 1:48 close. Indicates to me he was probably in sub 13:10 shape which only 2 guys have done in NCAA history.

I appreciate the correct superlative “fastest” (too many people throwing “greatest” around instead).
i'm a fan
hope he does well
Will he finally get a pro haircut?

No, he said he's "continuing his running career on a professional level." NIL is not "going pro." NIL just lets you do an ad for a local car dealership. It doesn't let you run professionally.
