Would someone please explain to me exactly what a tempo run is? a power run? a stepdown? How should these be included in my early-season, weekly training regimen so that I work on speed , resistance and endurance? Concrete examples of workouts would be appreciated. I'm a 10th grade boy who decided late this summer to do x-country. I've been reading a lot on line (Bingham website in particular, and I realize) I should have been running all summer, but I didn't, so what can I do now? Should I spend the next couple of weeks focusing on endurance? Our program is small, not too competitve, and we race on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with the state meet during the second week of November. Thanks!
