yea, I saw that - now there is a name out of the past
She was injured last season but is only 18 and would have been a true freshman this year except for graduating HS a year early. It will be interesting to see how she does against some top competition. Nevada will be at Roy Griak in Minnesota later this month.

They aren’t in the country yet - Don’t expect anything out of stand for today they are tempo running the race
Tempo or not…. They lost! The 3rd ranked team in the country should still win???? You don’t have to enter a race to do a workout! Maybe they are ranked too high?

All I will say is they didn't run everyone, but those that did run were not running that fast. First meet, but still.
https://gostanford.com/documents/2021/9/4/2021USFInviteResults.pdfmight not be super fast and players might be missing but good to see true freshman Dadamio leading them in her first ever college race. I think we still underestimate the class of 2021.
Which individual runners will make big improvements this year? Who do you guys think the top 5 or 10 will be? Which runners are really focused on going pro eventually?
Also why wouldn't Stanford's Runners be in the country for the start of the school year and the season?
Class of 21? Seems like a lot of the runners, top runners, are injured, which names do you think will be the standouts?

Neither Brynn Brown, nor Sydney Masciarelli ran for UNC today, although their top returners did, as did another freshman.
Where can I see the results?
The complete results
https://www.tfrrs.org/results/xc/18459/Charlotte_Opener#120583Because Stanford is on Quarters- don't start for 3 more weeks
Yep, don't read much into that race. The kids who ran had only been on campus 3 days, and they only now go for their off site training camp returning to start school mid/late sept. Things have to fall into place, but they can be very good. Heymach and Dudek can be top 5-10 at nats, Lawson top 25. They have more depth this year to fight for slots 4-7, so they should have a solid top 5 by November and obviously have to avoid nemesis of injuries.
FWIW Colorado has a ton of depth this year with 10-12 runners capable of being on team at nats. They will need, however, someone among Degenero, Nichols, Macarthur, or a surprise to step up as frontrunners.

An under the radar team is UNC women. I pick them to be in the top 5.
Good recruiting class! BRynn, l rock at time trials, Brown. Will join Sydney, faster than anyone dribbling a basketball masciarelli.... and be added to a already up and coming team of Sasha, could be an action movie star, neglia,... and taryn, fight and dive to the finish, parks.... probably take them a few years to get better
On UNC, if the 2 freshman could run with last year's third runner at NCAA (Harrington - who finished 61st) their team score would have been about 140 points lower which would have placed them 5th right behind Michigan State. This is why my preseason guess has them so high. Of course, we have to see how (and if) they run.
Anyone know who the sixth runner in the NCC State promo is. Looks like maybe Ellie hennes training with old teammates. It's the Instagram video where they're running across the bridge. Anyway I know who the five top returners are but curious who that 6 Runner is? A brunette...

What video? Where is it?
Early season result at Penn State - Georgetown beats Minnesota and Michigan in a close meet. Most surprising, Amanda Vestri of Syracuse wins by 30 seconds over a pack, including Bethany Hasz of Minnesota. Georgetown seems to have picked up Sara Platek of Duke.

just as she is in latest Instagram post
UVA had a good recruiting class. Sophie Atkinson, Mia Barnett, Margo Appleton. They could surprise.
NC State finally where they belong!

A tie for the first time ever. Weird that BYU has eight first-place votes, while NC state only has three, but they're still tied. So some coaches are ranking BYU below 2nd, which is bizarre.
