A blatant disregard for the rules. A slippery slope to make exceptions to the rules. The issue of Marijuana being a banned substance is a SEPARATE issue.

No thank you.
This is RoJo's attempt at balanced journalism; he can justify blindly supporting the white Houlihan because he has started a BS petition for the black Richardson. Very transparent.
Also, the only way anyone is going to beat Dina Asher Smith is if they are doped up to the eyeballs. It looks like a few athletes will be.

Hi Rojo, 1. Can you clarify have you any connection with Ms. Richardson? 2. Do you see a role for letsrun in "campaigning"?
Don't get into any marijuana debate! Don't be daft! Sports - and life - should be a lot about being fit and HEALTHY, and taking dugs is NOTHING to do with being healthy. Marijuana is bad news for the body, and the brain ( and Richardson's brain clearly isn't functioning well ). Here is the perfect opportunity to send out a very important message to all athletes...and in particular young impressionable ones. DON'T MESS WITH DRUGS!

absolutely correct. why does rojo keep apologising for dopers?
It is an unfair rule but why the hell would you consume weed leading up to the biggest race of your life she is so irresponsible and stupid she deserves to be banned

People who are saying that she should have known the rules etc…. Athletes are people. We should not be subjecting them to stupid restrictions for absolutely no reason. Marijuana can really help with anxiety. For all the talk of supporting mental health, here’s someone under immense pressure, from a broken home, dealing with the recent death of her biological mother and she…smoked a joint. And now because she did people really think it’s appropriate to kick her off of the Olympic team? We should be providing thc to track and field athletes to help deal with stress, not banning it.
No its the biggest flipping race of your life and you have the stupidity to consume weed in the run up to it then you deserve to miss the olympics just for being an idiot
No.

She likely wasn't in her right mind when she decided to smoke before the trials I don't know her personally, but weed was likley used for depression
I am wired a little differently and I am what I am. That said, marijuana for me is like a mental enhancer. Some people want to lounge on the couch and eat fried potatoes but me, I start having intense visions about conquering and winning. Owning people's souls after beating them. I wasnt an olympic talent but one hit at the right time put me in a very competitive mode..
Can we automatically add some username flair for the tightwads coming out in force about this issue? I want to be warned before I read or respond to their utter moralistic nonsense.

A nonsensical and ridiculous rule. In no way is is a PED.

Lol, balanced journalism, yea right. This is way more forgiveable than the burrito story. Being opposed to this stupid weed ban is a no brainer. It almost seems like something I would read on The Onion.
I agree that cannibus should not be on the banned list. It's a shame she failed the test on a drug that doesn't seem to affect performance. But, I don't like calling on the next in line sprinters to not take a spot. The other sprinters did not break the rules, regardless of the rules being outdated, and the sprinters selected to go in her place should not be put under pressure to reject their opportunity to compete. The other sprinters did nothing wrong and their opportunity should not be tainted.
I signed.

Rojo I’m sorry but this is beyond stupid. I don’t agree with testing marijuana being tested, but if you are not responsible enough to keep weed out of your system during the goddam OLYMPIC TRIALS, frankly you’re probably not responsible enough to represent this country.
I would like to point out that Michael Phelps was busted twice for alcohol related DUI's as well as admitting he smoked the bong. The second DUI he was 29 years old and cost his relay teammates a spot in the Worlds final. Yet I feel he's represented his country pretty well. Put Richardson's offense on the other side of the scale and is she more irresponsible and should not represent the country?
Rojo do you not see the issue with what you’re suggesting? You’re saying we get to choose which drug rules should be enforced and which shouldn’t?
