Apparently the people who thought Sha'Carri did not catch that otherwise I'm sure they would have been very upset at the negative influence her interview might have on all the innocent children watching.
Not quite as good as Lee Corso on College Gameday with Carl Lewis but it was funny. I remember ESPN breaking into the football game minutes later and made Corso apologize for his slip.

I don't think they made Lee apologize. I am very confident he elected to do it.

What a vapid culture we live in where this delights people. I guess when people live meaningless and self-centered lives, this is the type of thing that amuses them. Sad actually.

I loved it. Shows true joy. There was a study once that showed that people who swear are overall more honest. So I would suggest that you lighten up. It’s just a word

Well you sound like a bundle of joy.
Yes, you can be a really good runner and show what type of a person you really are....
Stan, swearing makes you a bad person? Are you 8 years old?

"Yippeee" shows true joy as well.
Maybe she actually meant it lierally? Like the feeling was really that good, orgasmic?

You're the 8 year old. No one said she's a bad person. But to use bad language on national tv
shows a real lack of self control. There are certain rules of behavior in a civil society. I know were in an era of people saying and doing whatever they want - whenever they want, but as we have seen over the last year, that doesn't work out so well.
I did and it was awesome.

I tend to agree. I also found Shalane's "eff yes!" moment diminished by the taint of what looks like a childish outburst. I figure that's what tickles most who like it, the childish response to giggle at the taboo of an athlete letting fly with expletives on-camera. It's not about honesty, it's about rawness and rawness is not synonymous with honesty as you can be raw and dishonest as well. My boss is a characteristically honest person yet he's classy enough to not drop expletives at work, no matter how stressful the situation he's responding to. He's measured and composed, like a fully-formed adult. Yes, they're words and words have power. There's nothing wrong with using them on the face of it, in polite society they're to be used privately in appropriate adult situations. If you have friends who are happy to drop f-bombs and s-bombs regardless of company, do you invite them over so your kids can giggle at the profanity-laced conversations you have with this friend in your home? Do you f-bomb and s-bomb your own parents on the regular? Why or why not?
I don't watch post race interviews. She ran a great race. Actually the top three were awesome.
Tats. Vapes. Pitties. Also posts links to click bait articles titled "Science Proves People Who Curse A Lot Are More Trustworthy/Intelligent" on her social media feeds.
The pearl clutching about a swear word is so hilarious. Grow up people lol

You go run the meet record at the Olympic Trials after getting shoved the first 100 meters and let’s see how much self control you have.
Posters on here venerate "Blue Collar " ethos but can't handle blue collar speech. On the farm that is how people talk.
