Exactly!! End of story

What makes sense is she was taking Deca and got a surprise visit and was glowing. This happens all the time and is the reason why out of competition testing was implemented in the first place.
I can't wait in half a year when everyone comes to the conclusion that Shelby is a doper and a liar(except for the delusional ones). The same people who are creating these conspiracy theories to defend this Burrito Vixen are gonna be dragging people outside the USA through the mud for a positive test without question. It's gonna be a joy to see. Thank you all for the laughs.
And I love the language of the report-
INTENTIONAL
the whole burrito thing smacks of someone looking for an excuse. The "Zapruder film" like examination ion her dinner reaches parody levels. The fact that Gualt entertains it is not FANTASTIC, it's embarrassing.
so if the [b-word] ordered steak, why the eff would she settle for pork??? sounds suspicious to me.. ban her for life. noone likes a cheater
If it had been injected it would have been present in her follow up test in January and it was not.
And in response to “spade detector” it has been mentioned over and over that if you actually wanted to gain advantage and cheat, nandrolone taken orally would not be the way to go.

We should start calling the BTC the BurritoMan Track Club. Just so we could add on to this parody of a doping scandal that everyone is creating.

Nothing adds up to paint a complete picture here.
Let's say she's a doper. They already affirmed that the nandrolone wasn't injected as it wasn't detected later as such. The other route is oral, which everyone agrees is a stupid way to take it.
False.
“Conte said nandrolone is often detected when an athlete is taking another banned substance—likely testosterone—that was manufactured in an illicit laboratory that doesn't adhere to strict quality standards and also makes drugs for bodybuilders, who, of course, aren't subject to drug testing (the specifics of Marte's positive test are unknown). Because nandrolone can be detected in such low quantities, cross contamination from using the same equipment to manufacture other substances can happen.”
Conte is the cofounder of BALCO.
It’s been “mentioned” unconvincingly and without support.
I’m open ears. Why?

This is an excellent quote from Dick Pound: "You can eat boar's testicles all week and not reach that level."
All I want to say is despite the fact that everyone became an endocrinologist overnight, I spoke to an to an actual endo about this and the whole burrito story is suspect at best.
However even I nor they can't speak for USADA. Nor should you. I cannot believe the amount of people who graduated both law school and medical school overnight. Utterly shocking.

This is really looking embarrassing for you guys. So much for being champions of clean sport.
Yeah, this article basically says "if we like you, we'll believe whatever you say and claim you're clean. If we don't like you, we're getting the pitchforks out no matter what defense you present."
It really amazes me that people like you are so lazy. Jonathan Gault wrote a similar piece about Jarrion Lawson, whom he doesn't have a relationship with. Contaminated food is a real problem in this country whether you want to believe it or not.
But yes, it also is an easy excuse for dopers to make.
I suggest you read this.
We had Jonathan spend a lot of time and resources on that article. Not many people read it at the time but the fact that we wrote it about a black sprinter disples the argument that we only care about a) whites or b) pepole we cover regularly.

Yup, LetsRun is literally the only place reporting anything nefarious about Christiane Ayotte. All it takes is a quick search of European news sources to see how horrible of a look this is for the US Track and Field team and Nike. If they want to save face, USATF and a bunch of athletes will come out with statements feeling sorry for Shelby but stating they are glad clean sport is being upheld.
Since you live in the same town as my inlaws, let's have a coffee and discuss this.
you don't think it's significant that a woman who was proven to have basically lied on the witness stand or at a very minimum really given misleading testimony was key to the case? Here in Baltimore, once a cop lies on the stand, they basically are never allowed to testify in court again.
Might it be a made up excuse? Yes. But can we stop acting like this is some American conspiracy. The head of USADA - Travis Tygart - for god's sake recently went on the Australian equivalent of 60 m inutes to try to defend an Australian swimmer who he said may be the victim of contaminated food.
Yes, many dopers may use that as a made up excuse. But if it's real for 10% of the cases that 10% too many. They either need to be specifically told not to eat certian meets and really warned against or the test levels have to be bumped up.

The problem with this argument is that less than 24 hours ago Shelby and Jerry both strongly implied she had eaten a pork burrito.
Yes, you raise a good point.
I do not like how they presented this at the presser. If I was them I would hae been 100% honest about it. The way they phrased it at the event made me think she hadn't ordered pork and that's specifically why I had Jonathan ask them about that.
That being said, they have been way more open than most. I've never heard of someone doing a Q&A with the media right after a positive test. Most whole up and deny.
That report says specifically 19-norandrosterone, which is the exact same thing Kevin Castille was recently busted for. And EVERYBODY knew he was dirty. Nobody defended him. So someone please enlighten me how this is any different. I'm not buying the burrito story for one second.

There have been studies showing that eating a few 100g of wild (i.e. non-castrated) boar offal can cause levels close to 5 ng/mL.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10861987/The fact that the AIU has conceded that the nandrolone could not have been injected is a big flag for me. Who takes oral anabolic steroids? They don't work at all.
Something doesn't add up. I'm more on Shelby's side than I was last night.
Harambe. Can you explain why oral steroids don't work at all? Why is that? That's very important to me to understand.
1) Racism. Read our lawson piece.
2) Without evidence? I knew Jacobs was a doper when she pulled out of the Olympics after the EPO test was announced. I was proven correct.
3) as for caster, she's not eating pigs balls, she's literally got her own internal testes that function.
I think without getting more evidence, seeing the decision both sides are foolish for saying they know one way or the other.
