I'm hearing all this Boling hype, like he's playing possum, he is a championship performer, this is what his season was geared towards, blah, blah, blah, blah
If I'm in that race, I'm not worried about what Boling might do. He had the most solid of starts, for him, in his 100m semi...and came third. And he tried. He wasn't even an automatic qualifier. This is not BJ '88 where he let up and came 3rd, and qualified on time. This is a call to account, and he's going to come up short.
And even in the 200, where he stands a better chance, at least Laird and Fahnbulleh will be ahead of him. I don't care what he did indoors, things are different now, for whatever reason. He has stagnated, while his opponents have advanced. Look at how strained he always is, so tight--then look at Laird, coolly turning over, and Fahnbulleh, easily loping to victory. Then throw in Maswanganyi, who is on fire--he's only now finding out what he can really do. He might panic and tighten up and not medal, but even so, Boling will be in tough.
Yes I know he is 5th-seeded in both events, so it looks like he has a shot--but to my eye, there is a clear gulf between him and the top guys in the 100, and he does not have me convinced in the 200.
IDK what is up with this guy, if he IS playing possum, he is the best since ADG
