And when you "legalize" cannabis, don't tax and over-regulate it into oblivion. Just make it legal and be done with it.

This would reduce crime and violent crime specifically. Why are drugs really illegal? Because the government is greedy and
Selfish and needs to track money and tax everybody who earns money. Drug money can not be tracked or taxed and that's the REAL REASON drugs are illegal. The "health" concerns are a front. Look at cigarettes being legal for confirmation of that.
Exactly. The world already has too many people. We need to start the zombie apocalypse sooner rather than later. We already have a decent start in places like Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and Downtown Denver. Fortunately it was raining in Denver today, so it washed a lot of the urine and feces out of the streets and into the Platte. Nothing more entertaining than watching a bunch of red eyed addicts chasing a handful of quarters in traffic.
Out of curiousity, what is the upside to legalizing cocaine, meth, etc.?

It kills the black markets of these drugs which kills the monetary incentive to produce and sell and fight violently over sale territory. So legalization of all drugs instantly strikes a massive blow to drug cartel drug business, if not completely destroying it. Also individuals struggling with these drugs can seek help or treatment with less stigma and risk. Example: you can easily obtain controlled, safe, exact measurements of heroin as you wean yourself off of the drug. You cant quit cold turkey.

This ^
As with everything viewed as "change" or "radical," we are again the only country on earth that can't figure things out.

I've thought all drugs should be legal for 50 years. What gives the government (and we now see what imbeciles they actually are) the right to tell an individual what he can put into his own body. He is not directly harming anyone but himself. Those around him may suffer, but they can always distance themselves. Driving under the influence should be illegal of course just like alcohol. The age should obviously be taken into consideration. I quit using drugs 40 years ago and believe it is harmful, but if someone wants to head down that road it's not the government's job to play mommy. When I first started smoking pot in 1966 you could spend 20 years in prison if you got caught with a roach. Drugs being illegal means more jobs for the police and profit for drug dealers. A lot of people are making big money by keeping drugs illegal.
It doesn't kill the cartels because typically they just decriminalize possession, not distribution. When Portugal decriminalized drug possession, their murder rate increased 41% in the five years following legalization and drug trafficking grew. Just sayin.
Look, we grind and y'all try to stop it. This is how we do. Why you gotta go and f!&k with the program? All due respect.
When you legalize heroin, cocaine, meth etc you get MORE of it......
My tax dollars are being spent on programs for these degenerates and that's why I'm against it.
The police steal the money from all the drug busts. That's also why drugs are illegal (the feds want to track and tax money being the other), to fund the police personal bank accounts even more.

Can we just legalize them in liberal cities so we can try to concentrate the associated problems that will arise. As long as brain dead people are pooping in the san fran streets I don't mind this effort. Not in my back yard and go for it.

^^This.
Just move to Portland. It's becoming a drug-addict hellhole. Seriously. Was just on the phone last week with a college friend living there. It's becoming a homeless, drug-addict hellhole.

This makes no sense! The reason drugs are illegal is because the government doesn't want to condone people using things that it deems totally harmful and of no merit
From a money standpoint it would make more sense for it to be legal and regulated and taxed, like everything else.
Basically the reason drugs are illegal is because they have become obscene in people's Minds! So they are all legal for the same reason that crimes are illegal because they are deemed something that should be forbidden
It's just a psychological thing
Anyway we should make it legal and tax the hell out of it! Tax the hell out of it just like we text the hell out of cigarettes! Hey if you want to be a drag on society and waste your life and make other people have to take care of you you got to pay! We can't let people die in the streets and we can't let people not be taken care of to some degrees so tax the hell out of it! Because when you turn yourself into a zombie someone is going to have to take care of you!
Sorry guys there has to be responsibility! I know a lot of druggies like to live in this fantasy that everybody could just be free to do what they want to but you know what we need people to maintain the infrastructure and maintain order. Maintain a decent amount of clean air and water and not pollute the hell out of everything
And all of that takes money and resources and the fact is if you want to do something that causes a lot of potential harm and accidents then you have to pay the taxes that your behavior is creating. People have to clean up the accidents from alcohol abuse! They have to clean up the accidents from people who can't breathe and get cancer from cigarettes! And if drugs are legal there will be accidents and Mayhem and people will have to clean that s*** up
i think decriminalization of all drugs is the way to go. i don't think a full legalization program similar to cannabis would be a good idea for the "harder" stuff. for a population that was less neurotic and miserable it might be okay, but americans would just go buck wild on uppers, downers, or both if they had that free access. seeing the ridiculous commercialization of "big weed" has been weird. people should be able to grow the plants if they want without fear of the DEA, that's for sure.

Dosent "kill" black market. Black market marijuana is still sold in states where it is legal.
There is really no stigma seeking seeking treatment.
Yes, you can quit meth, cocaine or heroin cold turkey. You might not like it, but you wont die.

good work. satire is not dead.
The black market for weed is still huge in legalized states, drug bros. That's what happens when you tax the crap out of something.
