Wow! 413 last mile. Converts to a 8:36 3200. 56 last lap and looked super smooth. Kid is the real deal.

Dude jogged 7 laps and then throws down a 56. Could have run way faster, but seemed to be content with a one lap race.

That's crazy, what a talent. I could see him getting Verzbicas's record.
the announcer said that he heard through the grapevine that kessler wanted to run a 4:14 second mile. 4:14 x 2 = 8:28, so i wonder if the goal for kessler today was to runt he second mile at NR pace to see how it felt and then to get into a higher-end race later in the season, like Brooks PR, to go after it?
Wow he went under that pace by a lot at the end
2:13
4:26
6:38
7:43
8:39
2:13/2:13/2:12/2:01 800s
65 and 56 to end it. Looked just like Centro in 07
Ok but what is the deal with the random british announcer?
55 last lap actually

Random?
https://www.armorytrack.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=45586&do=videos&video_id=298418Ian Brooks is the announcer at the Armory and has done New Balance Indoor and Outdoor meets
Where do y'all watch this stuff???
2:15.86 (818y) / 2:11.84 / 2:10.54 / 2:00.82
were his 800 splits. Kessler can def go sub 8:30
Not much arm movement, nice and bouncy stride. This kid is a future star.

He probably decided the weather conditions were not favorable for an attempt on the record.

For several decades.
why is anyone focusing on this kid? he says he's going for a record and does nothing and doesn't get close. I know I've never heard of him so why should anyone pay attention to him? We've seen kids come out and declare they are going for records who never amount to anything.

idiot alert right here - let's dissect
- Why is anyone focusing on this kid? - the natl record holder
- Kessler never said this was a record attempt
- If I've never heard of him, he must not exist - center of the universe type right here
- the dump-on to finish
3/10 poor attempt

It says Cilantro is registered on Letsrun.com. Registered insane? Ian Brooks is a well-known announcer. Anyone who is a true fan of national championship high school track & field will know of Ian.
Ian is a positive voice, too, who deserves our accolades, and our gratitude, as well. This one person named Cilantro could well benefit from seeking out and viewing some of the videos from Armory indoor national championships to become just a little bit better enlightened about one "random" "british" (What?? A British person knows about American high school T&F??) announcer named Ian Brooks before posting further comments on this thread.
