If Hunter was to lay an egg here in the 800 and Laird takes the next event (200) then we have a team title race.

Hocker's style of racing is very similar to Timothy Cheriout. Loves to keep it honest and can close super hard off of a fast pace. Hocker is on his way to becoming the greatest U.S distance runner of all time.
He was 2:59 w/ 400 to go. That is not fast.
That could continue for the 800/3000 (Hunter and Teare/Hocker) and 200 (Laird)
So LSU hav eto outscore Oregan by 3 points in their 2 events (200m & 4x400m) against Oregon's 2 events (800m and 3000m). Touch to see Hunter and Teare not winning..
What a friggin 800. Lots of pushing. McClear almost pulled it out but Hunter by a hair.

Well Oregon wins the 800m
How many DQs will come from that men's 800m?
WOW
what an 800!
Hedeilli gets out hard, lets Gomez take the lead, McLear and Hunter hold back
lotsa bumping with 600 to go, Hedeilli and Gomez bump, McLear snuck up past and almost got away with the win, but Hunter sniped him down
That was one of the greatest 800m championship races I've ever seen. WOW. Oregon distance about to go 4 for 4.
Hunter almost let that get away from him. That first 200 he really didn't seem to care about position. He might have been better off taking the lead at around 400.

Hedeilli edged in front of Gomez with 200 to go killing Gomez's momentum. Probably a protest there.
Mclear was shoving people from behind the whole race and passed Gomez from the inside. Probably another protest there.
He ran that like a miler for sure
Hunter wins it by 0.01s with the lean!
Hunter the only person in that 800 who has any clue how to race, from a tactical perspective. Looked like high school out there.
On a related note, I think the Oregon guys are on thyroid meds. Very lean.
We need to see Hunter in an 800m time trial style race
Assuming that gives Oregon a 95% plus chance for the title.

4 for 5 because they gave up the 5k for free.

That's exactly what I saw. Hedeilli's was just blatant.
McClear was a little more subtle, but we'll see.
Hats off to sophomore Finley McLear though. I think that was a PR for him by almost 2 full seconds..
