so you're telling me that covid was introduced in order to conduct a large-scale experiment on climate change? i'm impressed.
Imagine living hundreds or thousands of years from now in pain with humanity on the verge of extinction because of the pigs who polluted and screwed up the earth today. Might have to fly to Mars and start over again there.
Well, consider this to be done good news then...

The US sucks. People suck. Even your mom sucks.

Nothing Ryan Maue posts is "good" - he's not competent to be in his job and is not a credible voice on anything climate-related..
I don't care what the climate is doing; I just need to know how to monetize it.

Go work for Exxon...they have been thinking about tapping melted ice fields for decades.
Read the article. The short term effect was to increase global warming rate, the long term effect is expected to reduce it. Many systems work that way when there are multiple mechanisms involved.
As we increase the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the warming effect increases logarithmically. A logarithm curve is flat. This makes a runway greenhouse effect utterly impossible on Earth. Anyone with a background in Math/Science can easily see this.

The Alt Right presence here is not interested in science. Keep fighting!

Urine moran. I hope you never become an engineer. You will likely kill people.
Logarithmic is the inverse of an exponential function.
A logarithmic function displays an exponential function linearly not FLAT. It doesn’t change anything. It merely shows it in a different way. You need to be smart enough to interpret it.

What is your basis for that comment? He has a PhD in meteorology and his comment here is mostly a reporting of factual data.

Nope, you're wrong. It's flat. As you get further and further out, large increases in X result in tiny increases in Y.
Try Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_logarithmAnd that's why a runaway Greenhouse Effect on Earth is utterly impossible. Large increases in greenhouse gases result in only a tiny increase in temperature. If you had a math/science background, you would see this instantly.
I really hope you don’t plan on being an engineer. You don’t understand what flat means and you certainly don’t comprehend order of magnitude changes.
The natural logarithm is ln(x). The first derivative of ln(x) is 1/x. If you don't believe me, look it up!
For non-math people like yourself (admit it) the first derivative is equivalent to the slope of the curve. A perfectly horizontal curve would have a derivative, or slope, of 0. For the logarithm, the slope is 1/s. As x gets large, that slope approaches 0. You can do the math yourself. Put in larger and larger values of x. The slope goes to 0. It's flat.
That's why we increased our CO2 gases by 50 percent since the 1800's but the global temperatures have increased by only a fraction of a percent.
So tell all your friends. The runaway greenhouse effect on Earth is impossible.
Mathematical proof that global warming is impossible on Earth. Please read the above few posts.
(I just wanted to include that comment so young people searching on the term will find this thread). Have a good day!
I think you meant to say as X approaches infinity
Why did you change from arguing log base 10 to natural log (which is what you should have referenced in the first place)? I can only surmise that your 8th grade science teacher just introduced e today.
Again, you are not applying it correctly. You are also making implied assumptions regarding temperature change that aren’t reflected by a linear change in CO2 volume. You’re desperately trying to simplify a model that you don’t comprehend.
So if we pollute more, than the temperature will come down? That sounds mildly insane!
