And I'm not talking about the lower bar of not voting for Trump in the future. But rather the higher bar (that shouldn't really be higher) of not voting for Rs that will keep Trumpism alive.
Well Trump did lose re-election - the first one-termer since 1992. That's not nothing. Something works to convince people not to vote for him.
Rare for presidents to lose reelection campaigns.
but I generally agree trump will be the next president, based on my view that WI MI MN will be red states here on out.
Yes, an arguable overstatement, and reminder that we DID dodge a bullet last year. But geez, so many other negatives were wrapped around it, most notably, 47% of voters wanted 4 more years of him. In a country worth being proud of, you shouldn't need the Lincoln Project to tell you that that was a bad idea, and his behavior (or even a fraction of it) should have resulted in him being utterly crushed (assuming he made it that far, which he shouldn't have).
And, of course, he's still leader of the party. And the view that the Rs will regain the House has gotten nothing but stronger, and now we have the specific example of Virginia to suggest that that view is right on.
The Lincoln Project (and everyone else) has a LOT of work to do. And they'll probably fail. But lots of credit to all of those trying. They're the patriots, certainly not the Trumpers in their trucks.
