I know a young healthy teacher in Idaho who also already got the vaccine. What makes that even more ridiculous is that in her district they are still teaching virtually.

Media is suppressing info of people who get sick/ill, have negative side effects or outright die from the vaccine. Narrative manipulation in full effect, yet they search high and low for sensationalized stories of young people who are hospitalized from covid.
I see. So the media is suppressing it. But YOU know it is true, which means you have seen proof. So please share with us this proof that the vaccine is killing people. I'll wait.
I know a bunch of line cutters as well. One example: a friend in her 20s who used to volunteer at a hospital so took out her old badge and said she was a health care worker.
I know a few other people who are researchers in health care - never see patients, never even in the office now - who got vaccinated.
It makes zero sense and I can't think about it otherwise I get all ragey.
Would I like to travel and race and see my friends/family sooner? Sure, but I suppose only a-holes get that right now.
"Consider Moderna’s instructions for preparing its doses: Thaw the vials for 2.5 hours in a refrigerator set between 36 and 46 degrees. Then rest them at room temperature for 15 minutes. Do not refreeze. Swirl gently between each withdrawal. Do not shake. Inspect each vial for particulate matter or discoloration."
"And then there’s this: Once open, a vial is good for only six hours. As vaccines go, that’s not very long. Some flu vaccine keeps almost a month."
All you saying the side effects are not as bad as the virus are stupid. What if there are long term fertility issues? What if it causes its own lung problems down the line?
Think it through instead of licking boots
Sometimes it's about who you know and how you have connections.
I knew a woman at the Ohio Statehouse (she didn't get it, but her friend did) because she got her friend the connection to it.
In fairness, I agree with those who just want to get needles into arms and get everyone up to speed asap, so no complaints from me.

Why do you think the vaccine is more likely to affect fertility or the lungs than the virus?
Do you understand a question? He was merely asking the question. We know that young healthy people are safe from the virus which is why the vaccine has not even been approved for children yet. There are many things that were once approved for a specific purpose but are now prohibited due to health risks that were not discovered until many years later.

Why take the chance? Safer to risk not getting the virus then exposing myself to an untested vaccine. There is a reason vaccines take years to develop. Look at Ebola, much more deadly but they didn’t just shove a vaccine down everyone’s throats. I’m sure people thought smoking was safe at first too until long term studies came out. Again, just because they tell you to get it doesn’t mean you should.

I will not take an abortion tainted vaccine. It is immoral.
You won't have to. There is no such thing.
Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are both mRNA, completely synthetic, generated by computer sequencing in labs and nothing whatsoever to do with any cell/foetus, aborted or not.
It is utterly impossible for any foetal matter to be anywhere near the vaccine.
This coming from a Christian, currently working in epidemiology in Ireland - aware of the moral concern re: abortions, but categorically, neither of those vaccines are at all linked to any abortion.
There are tentative, but tenuous links to foetal cells in some vaccines such as the Oxford vaccine in the UK - in that, clones of the descendants of cells who where derived from a foetus in the 70s which was aborted for a different reason, are used as a medium to incubate the vaccine (though distinct from it. Again, the link is so, so tenuous, and it is utterly impossible that aborted material will be in the vaccine.
Also, quite apart from the fact that those first 2 vaccines are mRNA-based as described, even I (living in Ireland) am aware that Trump (who I don't support, at all) outlawed the use of aborted foetal material (as per the oxfrod design) for any vaccine research.

The first line was not a question, “all you people saying the side effects are not as bad as the virus are stupid.” I took his later questions as possible supports for his statement and addressed them.
We need to look at the total risk. acute + chronic. The acute risk from the virus is greater(low but not zero) therefore for the total risk to be equal, then the chronic risk from the vaccine, would need to be greater.
In fact, the chronic risk from the vaccine is almost certainly greater.. The virus codes for the spike protein and much more. Mechanism-wise it doesn’t make sense that the vaccine would have a greater risk in the long-term.
And the first approval of an intervention almost always exclude children and pregnant women, it doesn’t say anything about this vaccine in particular.

I’m personally not really worried about the vaccine at all. I’m simply worried less about the virus and have already had it. Maybe I would have considered getting the vaccine in the past for the “good of others” but f*ck. The government had absolutely ruined lives with these BS lockdowns and has made living pretty miserable for the past year. Most days I just want to k*ll myself right about now because of their actions. So no, everyone can f themselves that says I should get the vaccine. I’m really not concerned at all about helping the general public when the general public and government has had zero regard for me living.
Over the past year I also know 1 person that died of an overdose and 1 (my stepdad) that died from drinking himself to death. He had started going to AA and was making progress before Covid but that was shut down. The one person I know that “died of Covid” was 93 and was already dying. Covid is a f*cking joke

This is by no means trivial and I think actually highly debatable given the limited supply - and that's only one variable out of many.
From a purely mathematical standpoint, I'd say it's a bit more complicated.

Gee.
What could go wrong?

I have seen like 12 articles in the past week about side effects and worry-porn about the vaccines.
I haven't.
Can you post these 12 articles?
There is a mobile vaccination center setup in my home town in NW NJ. It has traffic directing and everything. According to the local paper it's been "hectic" but they've been able to vaccinate 20 people per day (the vaccination workers only do it from 9-4).
20 vaccines per four hours...maybe the rollout will be finished by 2025.

1) Ebola was able to be controlled with public health measures other than vaccines
2) The number of deaths pales in comparison to Covid
3) new techniques in vaccine development allowed for an ultra-rapid discovery phase, and heavy investment sped up the recruitment
4) a slow response to a public health problem in Africa is both expected and unfortunate.

I do know one thing. There is ZERO excuse for a single dose being tossed in the trash and apparently thousands are being tossed as the bureaucrats are following protocol and only giving it to people on the list. If I worked at a hospital and the people there didn't sign up to take it, I'd pust it out on facebook, call friends, etc.
The US doesn't have a system in place for this? No prioritized list of people to contact if extra vaccine is available like in every other developed country? Seriously?
Wow.
