Dragonfly sounds better for your needs as a 3km-5km track guy. It's fairly well cushioned for a spike, and would work down to 1500 in a pinch plus would be plenty good for most runners of your speed at 10k. Metaracer is a decent enough road shoe but I don't see its best use as being 3k-5k. I'd suggest you stick with the spiked, lighter shoe that is probably the best in the category now. My guess is that you'll see a ton of Dragonflys on the feet of your competitors now that they're pretty easy to get (running warehouse has them in stock now). As an aside, the Metaracer isn't legal on the track per the World Athletics shoe compliance list, but I doubt that that's an issue for NCAA competition.

I am looking to buy some new track racing shoes for indoors and out doors this year. I am a D3 guy who is hoping to work down to 15:30-40 in the 5km and mabye run the 10km. I've not run either of these on the track before as I am a freshman. Also I might run the 3km indoors. I have a pretty worn pair of mstumbos and victory's at the moment but I am looking for something new with the longer distances. What do y'all think.
