What type of races were they the middle of? Like some sort of final? I don't assume the two were in the middle - like 50% of your average race. Does anyone know?
Like if an American kid was 6th out of 12 in the state final of Colorado (I picked Colorado as it has roughly the same population as Scotland) that would be much more significant than if they were 100th out of 200 in an early season xc invitational.
