Normally I'd be excited for this, but I'm not optimistic we'll see many amazing times (I hope we do). No one has actually 'raced'. Maybe they've run time trials in practice, or staged some racing with a few people, but nothing like the heats with 20+ runners in the race.
Rabbits will try to set a pace but I don't expect much relaxation in the field with 3-4 wide on turns. In all the fast time trials this year they've all been single file on the rail. Add to that no one is mentally sharp and I'm expecting to be disappointed.
There is some magic we'll see though, and that's the shoes. For most of the field it will be their first time gaining the 2%-4% advantage in the new spike tech which will be worth 5-9 seconds per mile for many of the runners. So afterwards the forums will blow up with a few folks that ran 30+sec PRs and everyone will ignore all of the magic shoes.

It is strange. He must be pacing. The heat will be won in 13:29 which he can run in his sleep.
Remind me how he did in their summer series races?
Btw I thought World Atletics clamped down on their use earlier this year.
Anything positive to say?
Is this the "Official Sound Running Track Meet Results Thread?"
