A combined 2 years of high school coaching experience between them? Obviously she got the job because she was a pro. But Jacobsen? If you ignore the fact that both were most likely hired to hold a stopwatch, these two might be the most egregious hires of the year so far.
This just makes me feel like sparks is a closet creep for hiring that young lady knowing she has no experience. You should not get an assistant job of any capacity at a P5 without at least some college coaching experience. At least Carlson gets some stuff done. This Sparks guy just wrote his own termination letter.
Bro or bro chick… she is getting a coaching job that pays less than 30k per year… when you are qualified to run with the women, relate to the women, recruit more women and create a positive environment around the women (all of which she is beyond qualified to do) then worry about this job that pays almost the same as a volunteer job. Go out volunteer or take some some podunk middle of no where job at a school we haven’t heard of and work your way up.
Also keep in mind it’s not like she is writing workouts for the A team…
Also yes it is wild to have a full xc team worth of distance coaches on staff!
For what it's worth, she's making 30k more than a volunteer.
