Once again, I am disappointed in humanity.

The Borat character is poking fun at American stereotypes and establishment which is right-wing and conservative.

His other character Ali G was about middle class kids pretending they're black. The Dictator was a stereotype of muslim political leaders.

I don't care about the politics of any of the films/shows, I just don't like the gotcha style of this kind of comedy. I never have. It makes me feel bad for the target, even if they are up to no good.

I worry that I am too empathetic sometimes. I do not have whatever gene makes people want to run with a mob, and sometimes I wish I actually had that in me.

I find it hilarious, but I do think he has a political agenda with what he's doing. I'm not really fond of the extreme left or right, but I can find humor in what Borat does.

I haven’t seen this movie, but i enjoyed Borat and Ali G back in the day. It seems like it will be the same old routine.

However. since it’s on Amazon, I’ll check it out when I am bored.

Just watched it. The Rudy scene was scripted and had a substantial amount of overdubbing. Also there was a large movie camera in the room. It actually did look like Rudy was stuffing his shirt into his pants. The scene and the pre release build up reminds me of the Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler feud. Mainstream news gave SBC free publicity.

Anyone who appears in the movie signed a release. There were a few who obviously refused and their faces were blurred out.

The movie made fun of Trump and Obama. It was a stupid, silly movie with a surprise ending.

It wasn’t a great movie but I thought it was funny

Now it’s time to eat some beans.

I've always been curious about this. Can't they get them to sign the waiver before filming? Like "this is a documentary for xyz...is it cool if we record?" And then they record and make them look a fool but it's too late, because thet signed the waiver? Obviously it's not all hidden cam, so they can look upstanding and serious and legit until the jokes start hitting.

He was trying to pull the balls right out of his pants! This is outrageous behavior from an attorney sworn by oath to uphold the integrity of America. Where did he think he was? Some venal sleaze hotel in Caracas??? You don't pull shenigans like that when you represent The President (POTUS-D. Trump 2016). This is all out turpitude. Yeah Borat is pretty obvious and I can't believe that anyone thinks otherwise.. The Project Veritas movies that they try to present make believe as reality are a much bigger problem. Plenty of people were fooled by them and tons didn't the second round of news reports that talk about what really happened. But that is life these days. You can't believe any photos you see (want to bet someone can photoshop trump doing lines of coke with Putin) and videos can also be easily manipulated.

Hard to say. Rudy looked kind of out of it. Maybe they drugged him? Still, I think he’s going along with the gag. His political career is over. He is at the point where he can (should) just have fun. I think they were trying to show an Epstein sorta cringe scene. They did show Donald with Epstein in one pic.

Regardless, it’s easy to make fun of conservatives since they try to be so straight. The extreme left is hard to make fun of because they are already a caricature of themselves. I really like the scene with his daughter and the group of woman when she had the come to Jesus moment.

I also liked the scene he had with Judith. I was shocked to find out she died recently. It was in the credits.

(and for further background, they don't seem afraid of lawsuits, considering the first movie. Likely considered the cost of doing business. This lady doesn't seem to have set the precedent she wanted.)
