For the average sedentary American, a high-fiber diet would most often be beneficial. However, as a runner running 70-90 mile weeks, I feel I get way too much fiber, not only for an athlete but even for an average individual. Lot of high-fiber bread, vegetables, oatmeal, etc. puts me at around 150 g a day! I'm considering decreasing the fiber amount, but looking for alternatives to replace it in order to feel satisfied at 3500 calories per day and not overeat.
