That's why club teams exist you moron.
People want to be on an actual team and represent their school.

I covered this phenomenon earlier. I called it “certain regions or states,” or something like that because I was trying to be polite, but we all already know about fat*ss Mississippi.
If you wanted to present an argument about “average,” then you would have picked the state that is farthest from the average to make your point. You cherry-picked one of the extremes.
Do you think that Mississippi is average?
Do you think that any kid running in Mississippi reach his potential?
Is doesn’t take so long to count to “5 Mississippi” for no reason. It’s f*ckin slow.

When you race for your college's club team guess what, it is an actual team and you do wear your schools uniform. So you're wrong again.
https://uclaclubsports.com/galleries/running/nirca-2015/66Look at that, UCLA's club team wearing their colors representing their school on an actual team.

Then why do D1 runners run on a college sports team and not on a club team?

What? You're confusing NCAA sanctioned vs. club sanctioned.
NCAA runners have the ability to run at the NCAA sanctioned level, club runners do not.
NCAA runners are supported officially by the schools NCAA supported athletic department. Club runners get some support individually from the school. NCAA can give out x number of scholarships, Club does not. Clubs don't make cuts, NCAA you need to be in the top 1%.
This might have been one of the dumbest questions you've asked.

U r so smart
You don't like any facts. The Bix 7 road race is a race that has an elite field. There were 4200 male finishers of which 2100 ran under 68 minutes. So the average male ran just under 10 minute pace for 7 miles. Obviously most of these males are training but the average guy probably wouldn't have broken 8 minutes for 1 mile.

50 mpw?
Yes. Many probably did even more.
Okay.
What would the average 20-something male trying to improve his mile time run on:
A. A smart 50 mpw?
B. 50 mpw of junk miles?
Assume that he has long enough time to reach his potential on 50 mpw. An average person does not run 50 mpw. So although he was very average before building safely to 50 mpw, he wouldn’t be fat at all because he runs 50 mpw.

I already knew the difference. I am just saying clubs are worse than any NCAA sports in terms of everything.
50% would not be able to ever run 50MPW regardless of how slow the progression so the answer would be DNS for the median guy.

Then what mileage can most people run?

Then to answer your (dumb) question, they run club to still have the experience of running on a team, still have the camaraderie, the friendships, and have fun racing all while putting in good efforts.

Then how does anyone become fast enough to run in college?
Anybody can run in college. Literally anyone. I'm not sure why you seem to think that only a select few can run in college. Even a 7-minute miler could run in college.

This is absolutely false. If you’re not on the real team then you can go to way more parties, drink way more beer, and get way more chicks (or dudes if that’s what you’re into).

Why are you assuming I am gay?

THIS right here. Most would likely get hurt within 2-4 months. It's hard enough to keep "serious" runners healthy.

BS. How come so many people want to be D1 athletes?

Most people think that it would be cool to represent a big school playing their favorite sport and get some free stuff
however hardly anyone has a david45 level obsession with playing D1
1:49.84 - 800m Freshmen National Record - Cooper Lutkenhaus (check this kick out!!)
Jakob on Oly 1500- “Walk in the park if I don’t get injured or sick”
Emma Coburn to miss Olympic Trials after breaking ankle in Suzhou
VALBY has graduated (w/ honors) from Florida, will she go to grad school??
Men who run twice a day and the women who love/put up with them
