Overall, things were more "interesting" than exciting. It is so difficult right now for the athletes and they all deserve a big high five for putting forth the effort (and risk). Kudos to the announcers and others who worked to stage the meet.
A big tease in a way with Amos and Brazier on the same track but not actually going head to head.
I know that the mixed gender relays are popular but I'd rather see the legs segregated by sex. It wasn't particularly pretty to watch Brazier blow by Koko on that last lap.
And yes, we know Shannon could have run much faster given the circumstances. She's doing great and hopefully will complete in some serious races later this year.
After the recent magnificent efforts of Houlihan and Schweitzer, I'd rather watch these Portland races than some of the gimmicky races like that Zurich event. Given the current situation, I wouldn't bet on any North American athletes going over to Europe.
We may have already seen as good as it's gonna get although it would be nice to see more of these limited events, maybe something down in Florida for the sprinters and jumpers. Sandi Morris was down there for her solo effort during the Zurich event last week.
