Seems like an idiotic question.
But on the other thread I made on this subject, I saw that basically no one has difficulty to hit target paces in the afternoon, after running easy in the morning.
While I find it pretty much impossible to hit my threshold pace if I've already run that day, even if it was 4 miles easy (imagine, 4 miles easy, that should be nothing.
What could the reason be? I still don't have enought endurance, I'm not used to run on tired legs (despite running high mileage and doubling everyday)
It puzzles me.
Try for some time running only six sessions per week. One maxVO2 20 X 400m at 5k race pace with rest easy walking back to 120 bpm , and one LT-intervall at roughly half marathon pace and 10-14 km total , same rest back to 120 bpm . This way you put your daily energy into only one session and it will do you wonder. Try it, you have nothing to lose, only to win! :) Boa noite!
