Ran 8 x 800 with 2:15 rest in avg 2:27. First two at 2:36 and 2:32 last 4 at 2:23-4. Any ideas what I can run for 5k/3k on the track?

16 minutes and 9 minutes.
8:55 and 15:45
Was this a normal workout or a gut buster?
If it was a really hard workout then probably closer to 16 flat, and if it was just a normal weekly w/o then probably closer to 15:35.
Wasn’t really a gut buster I was feeling pretty tired but was able to get into a 8 min per mile jog about 15 seconds after my last rep, tried to keep the last 4 relatively controlled
if I did this workout I would do 15'15.
But I suck at training compared to races.
Ditto on 15:50-16:00 shape for 5k.

I think it's worth a little better than 15:50-16:00 shape. I did a controlled 6 x 8 a week before my 5k pr & was only a couple seconds off a mile pace-wise.
Was there a reason for such a big jump between the 1st 4 & last 4? Do you think you could have run them all at 2:27-28? Then I would say 15:30-15:45.
