I know its a losing proposition to post any comment on pages like this, but I just want to register my opinion that Jordan Hasay's Boston debut was incredibly impressive. So happy for her.
And to the commenters who say here
1) that Jordan's performance was fair, but nothing to get excited about;
2) that Jordan was a "terrible track runner"; and
3) that Boston is not a major marathon
I can only say you don't know what you are talking about.
What do you say to those who say she's part of a group of dopers?

Are you speaking from experience having run the Boston marathon? If so then you are very different from me. Boston was more challenging and at least several minutes slower (for equivalent fitness) than Chicago, Berlin or London. My Boston time was 6 minutes slower than what I ran at Chicago and London and 3 minutes slower than what I ran on a warmer day in Berlin.
Yes, the downhill does beat up your quads... just in time for the Newton hills. Yes, I could have prepared better with long downhill tempos. But to compare it to running a net downhill 5k or running down a mountain seems pretty ignorant.

Ignorance is calling a downhill course slow.
If that were the case, just run it in the uphill direction, and then you'd be faster.

I'm incredibly impressed by and very happy for Jordan.
I would pay real $ to see her, Shalane, Huddle, Desi, Cragg and Sisson duke it out in a marathon.
It's kind of a golden age for American women in the marathon. So glad to see Jordan be part of that group.
And, I second the motion that I'd like to see her run a 10K. I don't think she'd beat Huddle (or maybe Infeld and Sisson), but it would be fun to watch!

She already "duked" it out with Desi and beat her by over 2 minutes....however I would love to see her head to head with the rest mentioned.

She ran the smartest race of any American, male or female not named "Meb" in a really long time. Boston is a tactical race, and she tucked in, running deep in the pack shielded by the other runners for most of the race, only coming out at the end. Desi led early, and faltered after "rabbiting" everybody else, again. Ms. Hasay ran like the Africans, and darn near beat all of them.
