Surprising to see Mantz up there at that pace, we're either about to see something special or witness a nasty blowup
Getting some great photos for the grandkids

What was Albertson's 1st mile last year?
4:42
4:37 2nd mile Still Kipchoge front and center. Now during mile 3 it’s already separating. Fauble dropping back to second group. There are about 12 guys in lead pack.
4:35 3rd mile
14:17 1st 5k

Ditched his cap and grew a stache. CJ in the lead pack too.

Anyone seen Andamlak Belihu? I think he was missing from a few documents, wondering if he scratched
Yes he scratched. Saw it on David Monti's twitter last night just before I put a huge bet on him.

I hope he does well, but I don't see how he survives after a 14:17 opening 5K

This is all playing righting into Kipchoge's hands. He's comfortable with that -- others not so much.

Cool to see some US guys not afraid to get after it with the best though, adds a level of excitement
ESPN app on commercial break. You suck ESPN!

I think they said 1st mile was only 6:02

I always want Europeans and Americans to go for it and get amongst the leaders, but running the first 5k in 2:00 pace is... optimistic. OK, it's downhill, but that pace will come back to bite quite early.
Also: are the women jogging?
There's a break happening in the women's race, so let's go watch the masses start!

Why was the local stream on til 8am? What was the purpose? Is ESPN really the only option?
works for me from the US, no VPN. Use Chrome, FF craps out every few minutes.
Thanks! Apparently its /nowcast# on the extension.

Even Fauble went through in 14:25, or 2:01 pace.

I guess he wants to chop seven minutes off his PR on a more difficult course than Chicago That’s reasonable don’t you think?
