2:05 is crazy fast in these conditions
Thought 1:02:19 was a super fast 1st half in this. Chebet has run 2:03-flat in Valencia. Course definitely running slow (2:00-3:00?). This is as good as any performance ever @ Boston. Dismantled a world class field.
Called Fauble. He knows his limits & knows this course. Just ran out of real estate to catch Kipchoge. Smart to go out in 1:03:59.
Today a good day for the Boston/NYC is for racing crowd. The "slow" times here aren't slow. They're worth something faster. Lesson for amateur runners is to get in 2:00-3:00 better shape if you want to chase a goal time at Boston. If you wanted to run 3-flat today, 3:02-3:03 was probably right. Probably a good chunk of folks out in 1:29-1:30 & finishing in 3:05+. Love how this course rewards patience/strategy/good decision making. What a fun day/race.
