I guess you haven't seen her run before. She's a multiple world champion in distance events. Lots of Kenyans have less than textbook form, but still run fast.

Yeshaneh tripped/slipped and fell down, got back up and is back in the lead pack. The rear view makes it clear how fast these women are moving - she's on the ground for just a moment and suddenly there's like a 50ft gap to close

Maybe that should clue you in that your estimations of running economy are completely meaningless.

Mantz is now 26, and been pro for 3 years.

We have enough data now to judge his potential-

He has PRs 13:11, 27:25, 60:55, and 2:08:15. He has not been a factor in any US, World, or Olympic champ.

He is obviously a very solid American runner. And will continue to have a fine career for years and year.

But it is time we be realistic about his ceiling. He won't ever be competitive on a world stage.

How is that possible?
