After hearing this news I don't think I will ever wear Asics shoes. It's pretty clear that if RYAN HALL wears them and can never start or finish a race the same will happen to me.

And I don't think I'll ever buy a Nissan. It probably won't start - just like RYAN HALL.

While those pace bands look interesting they will probably cause me to run too fast and injure my hip or quads - just like RYAN HALL.

Muscle milk will probably cause some sort of training setback, causing me to withdraw from all my planned races for two years - just like RYAN HALL.

Most Asics shoes have a 10-12mm drop, which is very unnatural. Can't really compensate that with POSE (CrossFit kinda running) style.

Muscle Milk has a lot of soy in it and will make you weak and feminine.

Hall needs to give it up and just become a monk or something

You are missing the point. Nobody is saying he was training to be a 2:04 guy. They were saying he is training like someone who already is a 2:04 guy. That is a big difference.

what I would love to see is Hall train for the USA XC champs. really commit to it. Try to win it. get out of the 20 miles per day death spiral he is in.

Run fast, run up hills, do something outside of his comfort zone. that race is in february. If it goes well, then maybe jump into Boston and try to run 2:10.

Whatever training he is doing is killing him - he needs to push in a different direction.

2. Ritz is not as good as Ryan (or Alberto) in the marathon

I am a huge fan of Ritz but he is not a model to be copied when it comes to the marathon.

Ritz has done nothing (repeat: NOTHING) to suggest that he will be remembered 10 years after he retires.

Hall and Webb's ARs will stand for a long while. Especially if Rupp has Salazar for a marathon coach.

This injury bug hit Meb pretty hard after years of success, including an olympic silver medal. However, he was able to bounce back in his mid thirtys to race really well and even win the nyc marathon.

I hope the same for hall but he really needs a coach to monitor what he's doing. Maybe he should train with Meb and be coached by Bob Larson?
