Liar, liar, plants for hire.
Can't find anything official. Just basing it off this...

RT @Statman_Jon: Ryan Hall has withdrawn from the New York Marathon with a hip injury.

I believe that is 4 marathon DNFs/DNSs in a row for Hall
Yeah, @Flotrack retweeted it too.
@runnersworld: BREAKING: Ryan Hall has withdrawn from the @INGNYCMarathon. More to come: http://ow.ly/q4gvT

@ryanhall3 withdraws from #INGNYCM due to Injury via #NYRR Newsroom
“In my zealous efforts to have redemption in this year's ING New York City Marathon, I overstepped the first and most important rule—making it to the line healthy,” said Hall. “A long string of very aggressive training has aggravated my hip and it has not been able to fully calm down, such that I don't think racing on it is wise. I am very disappointed that I won't be lining up on November 3rd as I had so looked forward to, but I am refocusing now on getting back to 100% and going after some big goals in 2014. Redemption will have to wait, but it will be all the more sweet.”
This is why Hall is terrible for USA distance running. He is deinspirational. The message is "Even our best are nothing but quitters."
Can someone PLEASE get a public relations/marketing person into the NOP for Rupp?
And get everyone away from Schumacher.
I don't mind him dropping out due to a hip injury. But don't talk about your big goals for 2014. At this point, he's lost all credibility and needs only to let his performance do the talking.
Remember the kickstarter for his documentary The 41st Day? Seeing as he hasn't finished a marathon since that got funded in April 2012, have those guys just been following him this whole time so they can finally film an ending?

Who knows- they haven't updated the website since May 2012 and the Twitter has been quiet since December 7th.
Who?
Sad to hear but that makes it over 2 years between since the Houston trials and his next (to be announced) Marathon. Also no Half in between. I think it's fair to say he's done.
I believe Boston 2011 broke his neck. He thought he ran a real 2:04 and adjusted his training to that 2:04-2:05 range. Of course he gets injured along the way.
Is anyone surprised? This has been Hall's MO for a while now.
1. Announce for major race
2. Self-publicize, get money from sponsors
3. Profit!
He's toast. Asics needs to drop him, and major marathons need to stop paying him until he actually races again.

Dang, thanks for me reminding me. I've got $25 in that production. Just through what you have in the can and let me watch it. There's still bound to be some cool training (albeit no race) footage.
Great Expectations.....to bad there isn't a dozan Ryan Halls so he doesn't have take the heat by himself all the time.....some of you need to get out and start training like mad men (Brain Sell) and stop taking it out on Ryan for America's failure to produce only one or two (Ritz) competitors on the world stage!
hope the guy gets healty
Is he running with or without a coach?
Is this really a surprise to anyone?
I think there was a prediction thread not long ago.
I picked him 70% chance to DNS with a 30% chance of DNF.
There was a 0% chance of Ryan Hall actually starting and finishing a marathon anymore.
He's done!
Of the "big 3" from FL in 2000, Ritz still reigns supreme. Hall and Webb are done.

This is exactly right. It's not Hall's fault he's the only guy out there on his level.
