Newton Police put out a statement: "After being notified by the B.A.A. three times about spectators traversing the rope barrier and impeding runners, the Newton Police Department responded respectfully and repeatedly requesting that spectators stay behind the rope."
Elsewhere, runners complained of being triggered and traumatized by the kissing tradition at Wellesley.
The guy in the video mentions that he would like a high-five if he was doing the race. Did the police show up because this clown was on the course trying to high-five people? What an idiot!
Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner. That guy was in the wrong. He's clearly never run a marathon. The last thing anyone wants is to have some stranger trying to "high five" them, at any point in the marathon. This ain't no Disney movie. GTFOH with that.

At this point, I don't get why people post knee-jerk reactions on a small video clip without knowing the full story. There is a 90% chance you are going to look like a fool.
Most of our perceived problems as a country would go away if people didnt have to post within the first 5 mins of a viral clip spreading to "own" the other side

What? Spectators high five runners all the time. Maybe in your elite pace group they don't, but for the plebs it's a thing.
