John Korir ran a 1:00:02 second half on this course. 48 second negative split. That is unreal.

Hicks 2:04:35
Young 2:05:41
Ford 2:05:46
Klecker 2:05:56Definitely good stuff with the favorable conditions
Th marathon trials will be lit- there will be 10 men who think they have a legit shot.
Who can check wind conditions? I thought I read it was not going to be quite as much as was forecast, but this feels like the Australian Champs 200m final....
Rupp 2:08:15
Jerry can coach a male marathoner! Silence all the haters.
What are these times worth in normal conditions? If Korir's a 2:02 guy, is Charles Hicks a 2:05 guy?
Rupppppp 2:08.15
HE IS RISEN.

Klecker came from behind to beat Rory Linkletter there at the very end.

Thank god the TV missed all of this. ALL OF IT.
I don't know what I would have done had they actually showed the results of the marathon and the finish. Probably not been able to work today.

WTF Is this coverage????????????
Can copy and paste this post for every year at Boston, it's distance running, nobody cares
ChatGPT tells me the prior record for most sub-2:10's in one race was the 2020 Marathon Project with 7.
Today there were 12 with the top 7 under 2:08

Hicks is the future. He’s only 24
McLain still could break 2:22 and is still in 7th. Ridiculous move by the top women. The top two are so juiced to the gills that it's not funny.

Talbi (2:03:45) and Hicks (2:04:35) both go sub-Mantz (2:04:43). This is clearly the strongest top 3 American marathoners we’ve ever had.
Is Hicks an American now?

Korir demolishing the field sort of hid the fact that a lot of guys are running 2:04-2:05s today.
This might not be fair, but at this point I have a hard time feeling much enthusiasm for a Kenyan winning a major race with record time.
Klecker passed 4 runners the last mile, ran it in 4:38. Solid second marathon. Would love to see him do a flat course next like Chicago or Berlin.
weather.com has wind in boston as west at 11.2 mph
10 mph tailwind, gusts to 18 mph
Not as strong as 2011, but still very friendly!

50min ago it was 12mph at Logan, with ~20 gusts. Pretty similar to the average this morning: https://forecast.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KBOS.html

Does Hicks count as an American?
