So Kipchoge went out in 59:52 or so for half, which is like 40 seconds ahead of his WR pace. Ruth is out at something like 64:00 pace for half which would be roughly 3 minutes ahead of WR pace... seems legitimately insane. Surely an absolutely elite runner can feel that pace difference and know that it doesn't bode well?
