Ain't nothin to illuminate. Hurts like hell. Can't move without Paine let alone run without pain. Gets worse and worse. Showers hurt like hell.
For an adult male you get raw skin, bloodclotting into hair. Constant opening and reopening of the wounds.
If you've never had this I think you are in the minority. The lucky few.
Can't sleep. Probably the worst I have ever had this kind of thing. Right now just praying some sleep will come then healing.
I have occasional chafe issues. Vasoline has always worked for me though. I just have to reapply about every 30 minutes of running though.

Never had this issue but I once made the mistake of wiping in the woods once with poison oak or sumac while on a long run. That was bad, very bad.
It might be too late, but BODY GLIDE IT.
I get chafing there too, Body Glide is too daggum expensive but it works.
Consider ditching the shorts and wearing half-tights, preferably compression or very fitting. Get a 'slippery' spandex material. Provided they are tight enough and the right material, the tights should slide over each other and shield your skin from the friction.
Seriously, everything else in this thread is a temporary fix and you'll be screwed over 26.2.

Unless you jack the tights right up into your crack I fail to see how your advice is pertinent.
I chafe badly sometimes in my crotch area but usually the next day it's completely better. Not sure if 11 hrs would be enough.
Able to run and adrenaline of the race kept me going, no problems running.
Nothing like asking the hotel concierge for maxi pads at 5:00 am and then explaining why. Ended up going with a cut up sock and duct taping in place. Sock not pretty afterwards but overall hoping no permanent damage.
Hope everyone else raced well.
